Speaking of music venues on LI...
There was a place that I went to years ago and I can't remember the name of it.And I don't remember where it was.
But it might have been called the Vanderbilt?
It wasn't that far out, I'd say near the Nassau/Suffolk border?
It was an indoor venue, I would say it would fit maybe 450 - 550 people...decent sized stage, bars at the back on both sides of the venue.
I know I saw SR-71 there once, but I don't know how or why I ended up at one of their shows. Free tickets maybe?
Does anyone know the place I'm talking about?
I tried to google it but came up with nada.

It was called the Vanderbilt. It was like the Nassau/Suffolk border and you could see it from the LIE. There was an upstairs VIP lounge and the room was awesome. The stage wasn't too big but they did lots of cool concerts there. Party 105 and WLIR used to do A LOT of concerts there and different varities. It closed down. The building is still there but they sold the building to someone else and it's not a concert venue anymore.

Thanks! I just remember seeing a couple of crap bands there and thinking 'this venue is good, they should book better acts'.So I'm not nuts.
Anyone remember Downtown? Was that the name of it?

I LOVED the Downtown! Also closed! It's now Croxley's in Farmingdale. Best Croxley's IMO! But I DEF miss the Downtown!

That was definitely The Venderbilt because I saw SR-71 there too lol I also saw Maroon 5 there before they were famous and Brandon Boyd's (from Incubus) brother's band but I forgot their name. That was a cool place.
