Taxes this year are going to be a mess. My husband already did a little test of what we will owe and it's a lot.

Also, my telefile came with my maiden name on it, which means if we were filing single but married, I couldn't use it.

I'm not sure re: NYS web site, but I know you can download forms and publications from the IRS web site at www.irs.gov

So when you hear them on the news reporting about the 'Marriage Relief Tax Act', they're talking about raising up the standard deduction.
