Thank you note question...

Did you all wait until you got your thank you pics back before sending out your thank yous? I know that people sometimes enclose a wallet size photo, and we ordered thank you cards as part of your package, but should I wait? It may take longer than 8 weeks to get them and I don't want to be tacky.
It is totally wrong that they came to the wedding and didnt give a gift though! Sorry Rachel

Our wedding was Nov 4, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! And, my parents hosted another celebration for us in Chicago last weekend. Even though it's been a little crazy lately, everything was so special this past month!!!

Thank you note question...

Hi Rachel: I received mine in late July/early August. People don't expect them until at least 2 to 3 months after the wedding. I did, however, make wallets our of my profile picture and sent them out to my immediate family, bridal party, and relatives. They all just got 2 pictures. One early and one later. You'll be fine in 6 to 8 weeks. That actually quick.

Thank you note question...

one problem with waiting though, is that some people may worry that you didn't get the gift. people sent us gift ahead of time and i sent out thank yous as they came in. then i got all the thank yous from stuff we got at the wedding (i was stunned by how generous people were!!) by 6 weeks later. maybe i'm just anal...but one of my aunts actually asked my mom if i received their gift (it only took me 2 weeks to send the thank you). i realize this doesn't answer your questions about photos.. we didn't order those so i don't know how that goes...sorry! -leighann

Thank you note question...

I think that the etiqette is to send them out by six months. I think a lot of people run into the same problem since I often get thank yous around 4-6 months. I personally like the picture idea and like getting a photo with the note and waited to send mine until I got the picture back. I sent them out at around the 5 month mark. I made sure to have all my addresses and cards written out so I could just insert the photo and mail when I received the photos.

2 months after your date..

Is when the thank yous are supposed to be sent out. ALthough sometimes life does get in the way>>>(hehe) people will begin to wonder.

What I did is we picked one of the pictures a friend took of us...and I had that made into wallet sized photos and enclosed that in the thank you notes. ( we were married 7/2/00 and still havnet picked our pics yet for our album!)

Oh- by the way, YES you do have to write a PERSONLAIZEd thank you to each guest. I know it is tough sometimes to come up with an original expression...but it rEALLY does make a difference.
