TY Question (I hate doing TY's!!!)

My mother's great uncle was invited with his wife. The wife didn't come. The great-uncle came with one of his sons, and they included him on the card/gift. Obviously I'm sending separate thank you's. One to the son, and one to (here's the question:) 1) Just the great uncle, 2) the great-uncle and his wife. I'm leaning toward just the great-uncle. What do you think?

Re: TY Question (I hate doing TY's!!!)

I'd probably do to both of them and make a little aside to the wife saying you wish she could've been there to celebrate with you, blah blah blah.

Re: TY Question (I hate doing TY's!!!)

i would prob do to the great uncle AND his wife .... they're married so anything he gives you would be from both of them anyhow (joint accounts or whatnot)

i prob would not send a card to his son if i didn't get a gift / card specifically from him (but i'm sure others will disagree there)

I was thinking the same thing. How old is the son?

I'm sorry, but since I was 17 and had a job, I really try not to just throw my name on my parents' gifts. I feel like it's such a cop out.

Re: TY Question (I hate doing TY's!!!)

The son is my parents age (my mom's cousin) -- The card said , love cousin, cousin's wife, and great-uncle. The check was from cousin's bank account. The great-uncle is the add-on here, not the cousin.
