wait, just one more MIL zinger

MIL has known since OCTOBER that she has to move to Dominican Rep. She's been putting it off every month, saying she has a lot of packing to do. Then she started saying that she will buy the flight once she's done packing. Well apparently her sister tore her a new one today, saying that she needs to get down there ASAP (her sister's the primary caretaker of their stage 3 alzheimers mother, so she needs help).

So what does MIL do? Call DH and tell him that she needs him to buy her a ticket for THIS FRIDAY!! and NO, it CANNOT be for Saturday, Sunday or even Monday, that's WAAY too late. The flight's 4 times the price it would've been if she had bought it ahead of time. DH is just being passive about it- because, honestly, what can he really do? I told him what I thought, but left out all the sarcasm.

Can you friggin believe this woman?!!!!???

Wow!!! I cant believe this woman! Why cant she buy her own ticket? Why does DH have to do it?

She doesnt work, so she cant afford it. Honestly I ddint think it was so bad until I wrote it out and saw it here. If one of you girls had written this, I would have been incensed!!!!

i am so sorry because i really don't want to fuel the already burning flame but i think this is absurd! i feel entitled to speak my mind because i too have a MIL who pulls different but similar horsesh!t. i feel for you! i hear ya in the sense that what is DH really supposed to do...nevermind what are YOU supposed to do. speak your mind...always speak your mind so your position is clear and so you don't LOSE your mind keeping your frustration in.

is there ANY chance he can sit down with her and calmly discuss the situation? maybe her emotion about her mom finally caught up with her and now she's a nervous wreck about not being down there? emtotions can really make a person crazy!
