Wedding Gown Woes -- Anyone Else?

I had a fantasitc wedding, but my gown fell apart! As I hugged a friend at the cocktail hour, one of my spaghetti straps popped! We sewed it back on and at the end of the night, the OTHER side of the same strap popped! Yes, they were thin straps -- and yes, the gown was HEAVY with lots of gathered silk-satin material. But when you pay thousands of dollars for a gown that you wear once, you expect it to last the day! I am going to write to Amsale and complain. Anyone have a similar experience???

Wedding Gown Woes -- Anyone Else?

I was a bit dissapointed to notice that the hem of the underskirt had frizzed up a bit where it came into contact with the ground. It's minor - probably just due to the fact that the underskirt was a synthetic fabric. It doesn't show, but was a bit dissapointing to see that it's no longer pristine.

Wedding Gown Woes -- Anyone Else?

YES! My gown, by Jasmine, had very intricate embroidery of flowers and vines and some beading on it. Well the embroidery kind of unraveled a little and a couple of beads popped off. It was not a lot believe me and I was the only one who noticed, and if you look at the dress you can't even tell. However like you I was disheartened to see it happen. I wonder if the designers/manufacturers even care or would do anything if you were to write??

Wedding Gown Woes -- Anyone Else?

My dress had some flowers on it that had beading with pale pink and green thread through the clear beads. I noticed the day of the wedding that 2 of the flowers were done with white threading instead. No one else noticed and it didn`t ruin my day but how sloppy! I had an Eve of Milady dress. Also some beading needed to be redone after the wedding. Both problems were fixable by me before I sent it out to be cleaned & preserved, for these prices, you`d think they`d survive 8 hours of wear.
