what would you do if your anniversary was on a holiday?

would you do the usual and spend time with your family?

would you escape and get away?

our 1 year is on Easter this year!! we are planning on going back to the church we were married in....but then not sure what to do.....

either spend the wknd on the island. maybe spa. nice dinner. etc.

or just go back to the families houses and eat with them....

family said they dont care and its our choice.

help!

You can have a nice celebration just the 2 of you the day/night before and spent Easter with the family.

Thats what I would do

Our 2 year dating anniversary was on Easter (the day we got engaged) and we did our own thing - we went to Central Park, dinner and saw Blue Man Group.

Since my Mom doesn't make me a basket anymore or hides eggs and we have no children, I would go away. I am selfish like that though....

I would want to spend it alone. Easter is every year. Your first wedding anniversary is a once in a lifetime. Enjoy it - alone.

Re: what would you do if your anniversary was on a holiday?

Our anniversary is on a holiday this year. It's on Labor Day. We have a wedding up in Boston that Sunday (the 4th) so we're thinking of leaving right after the wedding so we're together in our own bed on our anniversary and just do our own things. His parents usually have a BBQ that day (except last year bc our wedding was the day before) but we already told them we won't be there.

Re: what would you do if your anniversary was on a holiday?

If it wasn't your FIRST anniversary I'd say spend it with family and celebrate the night before. Since it is your first I say get away and celebrate.

I guess it really depends on how big your family does Easter. Mine doesn't do it too big so it wouldn't upset me to not be with them on it.
