Work Bonus Bummer

I know I should be grateful for whatever bonus I get at work, but this year I got half of what I got last year and I was only here for 9 months. I know it is a 'gift' and should be appreciated under any circumstances, but I know my co. is doing well and I think somehting is wrong. Anyway, I did email my boss stating that there was a big difference in the amounts I received from last year and I was concerned that maybe he wasn't satisfied with my performace for the last year. In which case, I would like the situation to be addressed immediately.

Well, that was at 10:30 this morning and I still have not heard a word...any thoughts?

When the License was issued to you initially, it should have had a reference number on it. At least ours did - it was issued in Queens County. If you don't have the reference number, I'm sure they could look it up for you with just your names.

Lots can happen in a day that can prevent a manager from getting to emails. If you don't hear anything by tomorrow afternoon I'd pop in and address your concerns in person.

Good luck - let us know how you make out!

Good point, Phyl

Even though your company may be doing well, they may be taking a more conservative approach because of the downturn. A cautious tightening of the corporate belt....

It may not have to do with your performance. Good to talk it out with your manager though. Let us know how you make out! Good luck!

I think that you should have addressed a concern of this nature in person with your manager.
There are tons of things that occur during the day that could prevent them from returning your message.
Just ask for a few minutes of their time because you need to discuss something privately.

I know this is a late reply,,,, but
Dont take it personally about the smaller bonus. My boss doesnt give monetary bonuses. We are a smaller dot com company. In 1999 we got a MP3 player.. One of those Rio's. This year we got two T-shirts with our company logo on it and movie passes... Its just that he is losing money. I was disappointed too but I guess it is better than nothing.
