worried about my kittie cats

we are going to Israel for 12 days next Fri and we have no clue what to do about our kitties.
they are very independent and we have left them with lots of food and water for up to 6 days alone before, but this is double the time and their litter wont hold for that long cause they are big poopers LOL
plus this is a new apt and they are still getting used to it (the first nite after we moved had to leave them at the old place for the nite and now they get very anxious each time I approach the door)
what to do? we have no one to ask other than MIL

Awww poor kitties!

Could you find somewhere to board them..or will that be too much for them to handle?

This!! I wish I could watch them but they'd probably become a toy for my Lucy and that would be sad.

I was just going to say this. Is there anyone that you can give a key to and just ask them to stop by, play with the kitties and change the litter a couple times while your gone. Where do you live? We're in Flushing, if you aren't too far on the island, we haven't really met but I'd be happy to just check in on them a couple times while you are gone.

Re: worried about my kittie cats

i would ask MIL....either that or board them

12 days is a long time w/o anyone checking in on them.

if our coop allowed pets, and i was around, i would offer!!!

Yeah, either get MIL to do it or board them, which could be pricey and scary to them.

Knowing that your MIL is checking on them is great because a) you know someone you can trust is looking in on them and b) the MIL is scooping poop, which is always ALWAYS a wonderful thing.

Re: worried about my kittie cats

I know you said you didn't want to board them, but look into petsmarts pet hotel. my aunt left her dog with them.. and they were AMAZING.
here's more info

they do interact with the cats. and you can go there before and check it out.
