WWYD Dinner Poll

I started to change my eating habits because DH and I need to lose weight. After a long day of work, I came home expecting the low-calorie dinner we planned. Instead, he made calorie-loaded chicken parm. It took me 3 hours to get home from work today, so I was really angry to begin with. I yelled at DH about dinner and he stormed off to work. Should I suck it up, break the diet and eat the parm, or should I stick to my plan and figure out something else for dinner (suggestions welcome)?

Re: WWYD Dinner Poll

First of all, don't break your diet. I give food away when I can, don't bring leftovers home from restaurants, and say no to food that isn't on my healthy eating plan. I know it s*cks to waste food (and money) however it's better than spending that money on doctor's copays and medications for being unhealthy, right? If you're tired and upset, grab something quick (a grilled chicken salad is easy to pick up at most places) or a turkey sandwich from subway or blimpie (my go to!)

Second, you didn't mention if your DH was aware of this healthy eating plan and if he was on board? If he was aware and on board with it I can see why you would be frustrated. I would try and talk to him about why its important to you that you keep a healthy diet.

Re: WWYD Dinner Poll

It was his idea to eat healthier. We had a meal planned for tonight that he was supposed to put in the slow cooker.

Re: WWYD Dinner Poll

I really would stick to the diet plan if you're really upset about it, you'll be more upset later you ate it.

If you were close buy, I'd make you some apple chicken salad.
