WWYD? Landlord question...UPDATE

DH and I rent part of a house and our landlords live downstairs. So last week we returned from vaca and saw our Cable was out in the bedroom. We have a box in the living room but not in the bedroom. So the screen says to either call or go to a store to get the free box. Since our rent includes cable, the cable is on our landlords name. Therefore we are not able to get the box. Only the landlords can. We tried, I pretended to be their daughter lol and it didn't work.

So of course our landlord are on vaca BUT their 2 full grown kids are both home. They are both mid to late twenties. I tell the daughter, who does nothing so then I call their parents. They tell us they will do it when they get back. FYI I was a little ticked off bc one of the kids could easier call or pick up the box at cablevision.

So jump to today, they are home, I saw them leave to run errands and sure enough they came home w no box.

Should I say something today or wait? I should mention I watch a lot of TV and when DH gets home from work he plays video games for hours leaving me with no tv. I mean there's only so long I can read for and I definitely cant sit and listen to DH video games lol.

Would I be bitchy to call and ask today? It's been a week

****UPDATE***

So I spoke to my landlord and she said when she goes to pay the bill she'll get the box ..ON THURSDAY
now I'm pissed...that will be almost 2 weeks w no TV when she told me she'd have it by today. And then didnt even call me to tell me she wasn't going to get it.
Am I wrong here, or shouldn't landlords be doing what they need to do for their tenants especially when we are paying?

I would def. say something and you should not explain yourself.

I understand it's included but gee, how long can you really go by without no TV.

I would definitely call. You can word it nicely like 'hey I know you just got back from vacation and Im sure youre busy I just wanted to see if you had a chance to get the cable box I asked for last week'

I would definitely say something. Your cable is included in your rent so they should fix it for you. If they keep putting it off tell them you won't give them the month's rent for it. Thats what I would do. My DH and I rent in a house also.

If it is in your rent and you are not getting it, they should get less rent from you

Agreed! There should be someone to call and take care of this stuff when they are on vacation. If their kids won't take care of these kinds of things, they should leave the contact info of someone who will.
