Glad your ring is back in one piece and on your hand!

As for your co-worked... sound slike a lonely guy trying to fit in Definately stick to your guns and don't budge. If he keeps making remarks, just tell him off - you'll feel better

You already told him three times. If he wants to take the day off, so what. He will get the hint when he doesn't get an invitation. People can be so annoying. I wouldn't worry about it to much.

Re: 2 Great Things Happened Today and 1 bad thing...

Hahaha! I went out last night and just got to read some of your posts now. You girls are too funny. Yes, the next time he mentions it I will just have to lay down the law in a nice way. I just can't believe he's had the nerve to keep saying this stuff! And yes, not to be mean, but he really doesn't have too many friends. He told me that he doesn't. But maybe he would stop stabbing people in the back, he would! No more pussy footing around, next time he asks, I'm just going to say no. If he has the nerve to invite himself, I should have the nerve to say no.

Re: 2 Great Things Happened Today and 1 bad thing...

OMG, it just happened again!!! He just walked into my office and said, 'I just started my Atkins diet today for your wedding'. I just laughed, and he said, 'I'm gonna cry if I don't get invited' so I said, well we're cutting back on our list again because everythign is so expensive, so I doubt I'll be able to invite as many people as I'd like' and he said, 'Well I already told you I'll pay for my seat, if I don't get invited, I 'm going to crash the wedding anyway'... Okay, guys this is getting out of hand. He's not taking no for an answer... this is so odd!!!!

Isn't that like harrassment or something?? File a complaint with Human Resources or your Boss.

Re: 2 Great Things Happened Today and 1 bad thing...

I haven't said a word in ages, he just pops in out of nowhere and says it. It happens like every month. I stopped ever saying a word about it about 2-3 months ago for this very reason! Crazy, huh!!! I hope none of you have to deal with this!

Re: 2 Great Things Happened Today and 1 bad thing...

Sounds like he actually enjoys making you uncomfortable. Stand up for yourself a but more agressively, and he might get bored with it. He really sounds pathetic.

I have an aquaintance who constantly askes me 'So, Should I expect the invitation soon?' he 'jokes' like this constantly, but is very agressive about his desire to come. After I told him 'Sorry, we would love to have you, but can't' he continues to ask...So I continue to 'joke' and play along and say 'It should get there anyday!' We both laugh and it fizzles the tension.

I guess what I am trying to say is: there is a way to communicate with everyone. This guy sounds like he needs serious attention. Don't give it to him, and don't talk about the wedding at work!

Good Luck!

I was just thinking that even if you don't send him an invitation that he will probably crash your wedding. Does he know where it will be?

If he is truly serious, he is pretty pathetic. I can't say there is any wedding I'd beg and grovel to get invited to.

Re: 2 Great Things Happened Today and 1 bad thing...

Does he talk to and act this way to other people or is it just towards you? Sounds to me tht he's more han a bit fixated...I'd begin to get a little concerned about him in general...not just aobut the wedding...or maybe he just wants to be part of the fun...Hmm....have you discussed it with any other coworkers (him...not the wedding?) wht about the people who told you about hsi talking to the boss?

Do you feel uncomfortable enough to consider it harrassment? If so, liek sid above, you may want to make it a matter of record in HR.

Re: 2 Great Things Happened Today and 1 bad thing...

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, and everyone please believe me I am not against homosexuality AT ALL!!! But, he is gay and very open about it. He enjoys feminine things and I think he's very into weddings etc. So I think it's sincere that he wants to come, but the truth is, I find it VERY difficult to invite someone that stabbed me in the back. If that hadn't happened, I would just say, let's save face and just invite him, but I am very hurt by what he did and I dont feel I should waste my money on someone that did that. I have to stand my ground, but in the end if this is how it's going to be every other week or so, I might just have to suck it up and just invite him. We'll see what happens. I just really hope he stops soon!
