My mom is wearing black and possibly my FMIL. I'm also toying with the possibility of the BMs wearing black too (or dark red).

At first I was worried about it because more of what other people would be saying since I know traditionally mothers don't wear black. The dress looked perfect on her though and I couldn't imagine her wearing any other color. I also realized that if there are a million more bigger things to stress over so if I let what other people are thinking about my mom's dress bother me, I'm not going to enjoy my day (just my way of looking at it).

I am sure it is a little upsetting since you asked them both not to wear black, so I understand why you are upset, however I don't think it will look like a funeral at all. Especially since your girls will be in black. I think it will look very nice in the pictures!!!

As long as your not wearing black I don't think anyone will think it will look like a funeral. You yourself said they are both very pretty dresses. I wouldn't worry about it too much

My mom bought a black dress at my urging. It had silver crystals on the top and black lace with champagne underlay on teh bottom and it was very elegant. Your wedding will not looking like a funeral! It will look gorgeous. I actually wanted black BM dresses but the girls didnt want black.

My mom wore black with a little bit of white to my brother's wedding.

BTW, have you seen how many guests wear black to weddings now?

I would try not to worry about it, it will all look beautiful. As long as they're comfortable and happy, that's all that should matter.
