We are on a budget but we do the same as what Jo Ann said...I take $100 weekly which is for dry cleaning, my nails, gas & any necessities that might arise....FH takes $100 weekly too bc he bowls 2 nights a week & usually play cards on Friday night....He does not pay for gas bc it is a company car...

So far we are well ahead of the game & we are saving for both the wedding & the house...I don't think it is fair to knock things off your $$ if they are things you enjoy doing...You must leave some $$ for yourself in the saving process!

It depends everyone is different, I can get by on like 50-75 a week since my car only takes like $20 in gas and my breakfast and lunch cost about $5 a day. FH puts like $40 in his car like every 5 days so it is a little more for him.

You need to figure out what is the bare min that you need to get by. That is without going to CVS and spending $20bucks on crap that you dont need, or snacks at the mall,etc.

Eta: The key with FH is as soon as he gets paid he takes the $$ for himself out and the rest goes in the bank Immediately. (he gets paid cash) There is no chance for anything else. And I honestly don't care if the $ goes in the Wedding Fund or his personal account as long as it is in the bank and is getting saved somehow it dosnt bother me.

Wow, I just did that last night, lol. But now that I see that everyone is saving, and everyone thinks it sucks, it inspires me to do a better job. It's really hard. Buying things makes me happy.

Yes, I hate it I hate it I hate it. It feels like we will never have enough $$ and live a life of depravity and I will never have nice clothes or new shoes because not only is there the wedding, there is now a house to save for. (ok Im being a little melodramatic)

I also use the XX amount of money per week method..i've found this to be the best way

that is what i am doing. i put aside and x amount every 2 weeks for me to leave on the rest for bills and the rest savings. However, my fiance annoys me b/c he is so good at saving. he is always like dont buy cloths, u dont need this, we have to save for this and that....blah blah blah. but im hangin in there. Thanks girls i know i am not alone now.

i had to remind myself that today. i was at the mall and went into nine west and saw an awesome bag and shoes. i had to slowly back away from the register and remember the bigger picture.
