Re: Any West Indian brides??
Is anyone doing black cake?I am looking to get ours from a local bakery because I want it to look like a metro card. My FH works for MTA and we met on the train so I thought it would be a great grooms cake (southern tradition).
My FMIL suggested an older lady who made her wedding cake - someone who makes cakes at home which i know is good but she can't do this design.
Any suggestions for a commercial WI bakery?

I agree with you and I am sure nearly everyone in the room will agree which is why we are sending it home with them as favors. I don't want to hear any comparisons to Lady So & So's cake and how much better it was back home LOL
We are have official black cake (from this same older woman) at the celebration the night before the wedding.

I think my mom is making the black cake for our wedding. We are gonna give it out in boxes at our reception. We may just make that the 'favor' Its hard to find someone who can make it well.Welcome!!
