my parents got married 25 years ago and still think that the price per person should be $32 what they paid
oh and because there was no such thing as professional video they dont see the point
a priest was their photog and charged them only $500 (their album is two seperate books with liek 5x7)
they need to realize the times are a changin!

Hahaha I have the same prob with my rents!!!! But they are paying for part of ti so of course they have some say Its the people that are just nosey bodies that like to 'give advice' that are the real annoyances

my SIL who planned her wedding a couple years before us, gave us the BEST advice...nod ur head & smile & say 'thanks i'll keep that in mind'...not only does it shut them up, but it doesnt
leave u agreeing or disagreeing...worked like a charm!

Exactly, I had to do this when DD was born. I got a llot of advice from stepmom, who's kids are 40 yrs old!!!!!!! OMG the things that have changed since then. (This si a woman who thinks it is shameful to show off a pregnant belly!!!)

My Mom told me that grooms drive themselves to the church so they can drive home after the reception.

Oh yeah, and no engagement party.

Fine, she would be paying for the engagement party, so if she thinks we shouldn't have one, then we won't. But FH and I are paying for limos, and I'll be damned if I have to hear 'it's ridiculous that he is taking a limo' one more time!!!!

yeah my sister constantly does that... she has been married for 17 years.

never head of ordering a BM dress so far in advance.

She recommended her band.... i said to her are they still around?!!

also never heard of STD.

everyone always feel like they have to put their own sense into everything. When we first got engaged, my grandmother told me to grow a thick skin because you to have learn to ignore them and do what you want. I still tell people that when they get engaged- but then I guess, I'm putting my sense in too!
