the bridal shower or bachelorette party?

We are very close with a gay couple.. I really want them to be there, they are always the life of the party and with us at every event..... but is it not 'ettiquete'???

hmmm that is a hard one, no i am not inviting guys to either but if you are really close to this gay couple maybe to the bridal shower but i think the bachelrette party should just be the girls

no i am not...not b/c of the etiquette thing...i am very close with a gay man who i work with, but i am not sure he would want to be there

IMO.....

he would absolutely understand if he was NOT invited, but you can't be sure he would be offended if you DID invite him.

I think, knowing only what you said, the best decision is no.

Some cases would be different though.

One of my best friends in the whole world is gay. I always said that he was going to be a bridesmaid haha but we both know that it would be silly and he will be there as a guest like everyone else on my special day...i dont think he'd be comfortable going to a shower or bachelorette party anyway..

I did invite my friend to my bridal shower and he was thinking about coming, but of the group of friends that we hang out with none of them were able to come, so he decided against it. When I invited him, I let him know that it was completely his choice.

Yes! my best friend is a gm and will be attending and planning my shower and bachelorette party. I call him the honorary bm

I have a cousin that is gay and also has a life partner as well.. also I have a friend that is gay- all three are coming to the wedding but I didn't think it was right (since they are still men) to invite them to the bridal shower or my bachelorette party.

If he were straight he would be doing everything with FH so why is it different because he's gay? He just does everything with me. You should've seen the salon when he came to see dresses with me! They're like,'no men allowed!' That didn't last very long

Absolutely, my situation is a little different he is my best friend in the world since we were 4 and he's in the BP. If he were just a friend I wouldn't invite him to the shower or bach party.

I asked my friend if he wanted to go to the shower or the bachelorette. He said bachelorette so I told my MOH to include him.

YES!!!! but they will not be at the shower .. its a girls only even.. just becuase they are gay doesn't mean they are not men anymore..

I am not having a maid of honor - I am having my best friend who happens to be gay as my man of honor. He has no problems being in my wedding party or planning/attending my bachelorette party or shower. As a matter of fact, he was quite honored to be have been asked.

I say invite them and let your friends have a decide if they will attend or not.

yes they are invited to both! And they cant wait!! they are awesome!! wanna help any way they can and be there for me thru the special moments!

they didnt want to come to the shower but they are coming to the bach. party!!! we are going to AC SAturday.

My best friend from college is a gay guy and he and I have been to tons of showers together. He would think it was weird not to be invited. Depends on your relationship, I guess.
