WOW!! Beautiful Claud!! And I'm very impressed!!!! The diaper cake, my MIL made and it was from her and my mom, but it wasn't made with diapers, it was made w/receiving blankets (like I needed any more of those, huh)!!!!!

The mothers-to-be are going to LOVE THEM!!!!!

Daddy's Diaper Duty Tool Kit

A friend of mine made the tool kit with a Home Depot toolbelt, more macho for those macho-dads

Diaper Cakes Ive also made the 'baby cake' with towels. This crafty stuff is so much fun.

By the way - is the toolbelt or diaper cake a gift in of itself? It seems like a novelty more than a real gift...do you include other gifts inside?

Stef, I think it depends on what you plan to spend on the person. Im sure making one of these can get quite costly, if you add up all the items, so it can be your gift, and a very special one for that matter !!

I always make it as an extra for whoever I make these type of things for. Its usually close friends or family.

Stef, just so you know....these are NOT cheap gifts....read the poems and you'll understand all the stuff tucked 'inside' adds up! Most of what is in the diaper cake is stuff the Mommy can put in the diaper bag - which is important to be prepared! There's also a sleeper and some tee-shirts, washcloths, etc.

I spent close to $200 making both the cake and the tool belt (but, about $60 of that was getting my supplies for the creative part - like paint, stamps, ribbons, the cake board, etc.)

I am giving the cake and diaper tool belt to the couple, along w/a newborn outfit and a book for the new Mom. I think it's a very generous gift.

I think its a generous gift too...i was just thinking if I did one like the toolbelt, it wouldnt be a big enough gift...but you are giving a lot.

And holy moly this baby stuff is expensive!!

I LOVE IT ... absolutely love it. You are very creative and very talented. I agree with Anna!

And I think it's an extremely generous gift ... especially with all the time and energy you put into it to make it perfect!!! What a great friend!!!
