sorry you had such a bad experience!

Try RK bridal. It's in the city, but the selection & service make it totally worth it!

Chip check out Blanches Bridal in East Rockaway. Its a small place w/tons of dresses. They are very accomodating.

The owner is always on the premises and the seamstress is excellent.

Chippa, have you tried Brava Bridal Salon on Austin St. in Forest Hills? That's where I got my dress. The ladies in there are very nice. Not a huge selection, but who knows!

Sorry to hear about your experiences! That really s ucks! I highly recommend Lillette's. I can't say enough about that place. Ask for Gerri-she is amazing! She spent about 2 1/2 hours with me until I finally found the one. She was so helpful and nice and I would never have even tried on my dress if it wasn't for her, but when I did I loved it. She is honest, but not pushy and really takes into consideration what you like. I told her what kinds of dresses I like and she went to the racks and pulled off a whole buch that were exactly what I described. Then she found a different style that she thought would look good on me and suggested I try at least one on. I did and loved it and it turns out that is the style of the dress I ended up with. I also went to David's and their customer service was terrible. I had a pretty good experience at Macy's in Manhasset. If you're interested in a Demetrios dress, go there. They have a huge selection. I did feel a little rushed there though. I tried on a bunch of dresses, but didn't find the one. I would have liked to try on more dresses, but they didn't have the time for me. The woman said I could come back another time to try on more. I also went to the Commack Wedding Center and they were very nice there too and had a pretty big selection, but IMO nothing compares to Lillette's!

Re: back from bridal gown shopping. the good, the horrible and this could get ugly

Dress shopping can be stressful enough without the added stress of incompitent sales people. And not for anything, but why do they even have men in a bridal salon. There was a guy working a the HORRIBLE David's Bridal in Carle Place and I found it strange. Too many body parts exposed when trying on dresses to have men working in the shop - unless they are 100 years old
