Re: Bank Robbery in Farmingdale-UPDATED

My brothers girl friend got held up in the bank she worked at (gun point) two weeks after starting her job. Roslyn Bank in Bay Shore. Thats scary!! It seems like it is happening a lot on Long Island.

Re: Bank Robbery in Farmingdale-UPDATED

I live in farmingdale and work for a bank in melville - (I don't work in a branch though, but I used to in college) - it was probably a note passer - you can be in the branch while a teller is being robbed and you wouldnt even know.

Its actually quite common now adays - after the note passer leaves is when the lock down the branch.

If two banks were robbed - it was probably by the same person!!!

and the fleet/bank of america in south farmingdale gets robbed like once every 6 months

Re: Bank Robbery in Farmingdale-UPDATED

scary! the bank around the corner from me has been robbed a few times. i showed up one time an hour after it happened. news 12 was there and wanted to interview me, i said no.

on another note a bank robbery happens at least once a day in nassau. i heard this from my friend who just started working for the nassau police dep't.

i dont understand why robbers do it. not to mention it is just plain wrong, they almost always get caught.

Re: Bank Robbery in Farmingdale-UPDATED

I work at a catholic school in Farmingdale and we were on lockdown. One of the parents works at the bank- it is the Bank of New York on Conklin Street (between Citibank and Roslyn). He said nobody was hurt (luckily) but it was scary being on lock down because none of us knew what was going on!!
