I am actually looking forward to this world series.

Assuming the Yanks win... they will play either the Cards or Houston.

I picked Houston to go to the WS since the playoffs start. But if the cards make it I wouldn't mind either.

And for the record... I would love to see Valentine come back to the Mets. Compared to who else is available... unless they get Lou... Valentine is my second choice.

They never should have gotten rid of Valentine in the first place. They should have dumped Phillips (which they ended up doing the year after anyways).

totally agree...but yet proves the utter patheticness of these doomed Mets...
You guys can complain that the Yanks win because they have money and buy their players BUT the METS ...JEEZ they just have NO BRAIN CELLS WHAT_SO_EVER...Money would make no difference in their playing and administrative skills...they will always F*** up

The Mets have half the payroll of the Yanks so it is about the money. Until the Mets and Yanks are on equal playing grounds money-wise... then your arguements can be valid.

Besides... the Mets are far from 'doomed'. Their new GM is well-known for doing an excellent job. And they just signed a contract to have their own cable network with Time Warner which will bring in additional $$$$.

Well... unless the Yanks decide to NOT spend the 200+ million they do a year... then YEAH i want the Mets to do everything they can to be competitive.

What makes me laugh the most is... the Yanks haven't even won a WS ever since they started spending the MAD cash that they have been doing. I call it 'The Curse of Giambi'.

The Mets already do that but they have made poor choices. It's not like they have a small payroll. They are just spending their money on the wrong players.
