Re: Best Hospitals to Deliver

Actually, come to think of it, the nurses and doctors at SB sent my sister home in rush hour traffic saying her contractions were braxton hix and she wound up almost giving birth in traffic. so yeah, i guess SB is not that good.

That was me coming BACK to the hospital the day I left..it was rush hour and I was early so labor was short....I just made it into the delivery room.

Thanks for your kind words.
Again, I HATE to say that this is routine for them( hospital) I dont think it is, but the more aware people are the better.

I could not at this point continue to pursue a lawsuit because it was 7 years ago last June and there is a statute( sp? ) of limitations.

I just delivered at St.Charles-I have to say the nurses in Labor and Delivery were angels but some on the maternity floor were real winners if you catch my drift (and i'm a nurse at Mather down the road)-I waited almost 2 hours for a motrin one morning!

Oh great! That's what I found with the nurses at Stony Brook...when you need those pain pills, you dont want to have to wait an hour during a 'shift change'.
The other thing I really didnt like about Stony Brook were the visiting hours. I had a c-section, and I had visitors at all times of day, sometimes 10 people in my room. It was too much.

Yeah-it was frustrating at times. But the visiting hours were actually strict and I liked that-I needed the rest.
