same here. some rules of etiquette should not be 'modernized'. IMO, this is one of them.

if people care enough to attend your shower and were generous enough to buy you a gift, they should be thanked with a personalized note.

I agree. I wrote out 73 engagement party thank yous in 2 days. It goes really quickly once you get the hang of it. My family gets very offended when there's no personalized note - whether its a shower TY, e-party, even 'thank you for your sympathies' after a wake or funeral.

For my e-party I had to write at least 50 - I did about 7 in a sitting. It is tedious, but I think people appreciate hand written notes.

I suppose in the end, you can do whatever you want and whatever people think...do you care or don't you? I'm not the type of person to snear at a computer generated thank you, address label, invite, whatever... nor would I judge said person on the fact nor give a less of a gift or whatever! It does not matter if you do not think it does. We got a Christmas card this year and they 'signed' with a label! Do we love them less? No! They used today's technology to the best of their ability.Now... I voted for handwritten. And I would take my time with them. Your guests were there so they know how many thank you's you'll have to write so they should not expect it in a week. But my real answer for you is to do some combination of the two. Print out the Thank you for sharing in my special day doodah on the computer. Then handwrite thank you for the red lace crotchless panites, Ricky will love them in Tahiti!!!
As already suggested, do five a day and they'll get them when they get them! How about have a thank you writing party with your BM's. I'll be derned if someone say's... that's not Chrissy's handwriting... I want my gift back!!!!!

i think you can do it on the computer and get away with it not being handwritten, but maybe you should personalize it a bit more only b/c i think ppl really would appreciate it!

I vote for a personalized note, doesnt have to be long, just short and to the point.I am MOH for my cousin and when i printed up address labels for shower invite, i printed a second list up and bought her the matching thank yous, addressed, stamped and return adress labeled them for her. Since she is my MOH, hopefully she will do the same for me

In my opinion if someone took the time to go shopping for a personalized gift I should take the time to give them a personalized thank you. Just because we are busy without weddings and everything else we shouldn't forget our manners.

I think that a handwritten note is nice. Something simple like:Thanks so much for the ______. It was wonderful to see you at the shower and we look forward to celebrating with you at the wedding.
I'd print out address labels for the envelopes to save time and sanity, though.

I agree. I think people really appreciate receiving a hand written thank you. For my e-party I wrote my thank yous the next day (only about 40). Well, I heard from FMIL that everyone was commenting to her about how quickly they received the thank yous, how organized I must be, and how great I am! You can make your guests happy just by taking some time to write something personal.

Re: Bridal Shower Thank You Cards (w/Poll)
IMHO...I would go for a personalized note. It does not have to be a novel but a quick thank you referencing the present.
Of course, none of us have the time to write them, right?
Well, most people who come to showers are also busy. They took the time to find out what the bride wants, went to the store and bought it and then came to the shower.
I think 2 or 3 lines on a thank you note is not much in comparison.
And it does not make them feel like you don't even know who got you what.
