I think the dress looks great on you as is... I don't think you CAN get the corset sides closer together.... any closer, and they'll touch each other and it will look like shoelaces!I'm always suspicious of the stores ordering big dresses to increase the alteration fees. If it were larger, they'd have to take the whole thing apart basically to recreate what you already have in the smaller size!
My dress (no pix) has a wider opening in the corset than yours, and has a fabric panel in back of it....
