Bridesmaid Dresses

Hi I want to know if anyone knows of a good place for Bridesmaid dresses that also offers a lot of dresses to try on. I went to Macys in Manhattan and RK Bridal in the city but I would like to look in Long Island. I have heard not so great things about David's. So basically is there a place with a lot of selection?

I haven't gone to look at this place yet, but I was wondering if anyone has any comments on it, either good or bad

Bridesmaid Dresses

I just went to Saymels (sp?) in Astoria, Queens- on Steinway street. I wasn't looking for bridesmaids dresses, but it looked like they had a large selection of all kinds of dresses. You should give them a call. I don't have the #, but I'll try and get it for you.

any idea where in MB she's stayed?

Bridesmaid Dresses

I bought my gown and my girls bought theirs at Adrienne's Bridal Shop in West Ilsip. She has this beautiful victorian home filled !!!!! with tons of dresses. She actually just built and opened a little cottage behind the main house just for bridesmaids. She also gives a 20% discount if all your girls buy there. I only had 2 and I still got the discount. She is extremely loyal and fair to everyone. She has a huge selection. It's clean, not over crowded, neatly organized. She has a website. It's www.adriennesbridal.com. Check it out.

Hope this helps! Stephanie, Classic Favors and Invitations

I recently went to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. The try on area is a little small, but I found a realy good selection and even the perfect bridesmaids dress! Good Luck

Bridesmaid Dresses

Hi Jeanine: They range from 160 - 240ish. My girls paid 220, less 20%, but I picked a very classy dress that can be cut to any length so they can wear them again.

My SIL's wedding was there in 96. She had an August wedding(sweat city) and used the garden type room for the cocktail hour(which was very hot) and the tiffany room for her reception. The wedding was lovely, I do remember some people sending their food back because it was cold though. The part that is nice about Manor East is the moving of your guests to multiple rooms--I always love that when I go to a wedding. Good Luck

Bridesmaid Dresses

I took my MOH to The Wedding Center in Commack. We found there was a decent selection and the staff was very nice and helpful. The dress I picked for my girls is $150 plus alterations. From what I saw, $150 seems pretty reasonable. If cost is a big factor you might want to consider Estelle's Dressy Dresses on Route 110. They have TONS of dresses of every size and style at very low prices. Good Luck!! Let us know how you do!

If I were you, I'd pour over a few bridal magazines, find dresses that you like (many will be noted in the magazine if they come in plus sizes), and then find the nearest authorized bridal shop for that designer.

You can also find sizing info from many designer web pages as well.

I think I am going to stick with my original dress I liked. It was $199 including alterations. I hope everything works out! Good luck to you all too!

Thanks everyone for all of your responses. The basket is almost done and the engagement(I'm so excited) is anyday. I'm finally getting the sister I always wanted!! Thanks Again....Gina :)
