Bridesmaid Dresses

Do you think that black is appropriate to wear for an afternoon wedding?? The dress is black with a wrap that goes around the arms. On the inside of the wrap is white so if it is done correctly the white shows a little. It is a very elegant dress. The dress does come in other colors (some are beautiful) and I am not sure what to do. People think black should not be worn for a afternoon wedding. HELP

My FSIL was maid-of-honor at my SIL's wedding. We keep our families tight LOL That particular photographer on for her wedding was sloppy and loud. The pictures did come out nice but my FSIL likes more of a candid feel. She is into photography and feels Cassarino cannot capture what she wants and I think she is right in her particular case. I was also a bridesmaid at my SIL's wedding and to be honest once you experience a company(badly) firsthand you are instantly turned-off. I think that's pretty understandable. It's not to say though that they are bad--her pics were nice. They just weren't for us.

We went to the Band store to see what they offered. Two weeks later, the guy called us and was EXTREMELY RUDE because we did not commit to his band! He made personal digs, and seemed very unprofessional. He acted like we were obligated to use him, although we never made any commitment. We question his validity as a supplier of bands, and are happy we chose not not to use him.

It seems to me that these days anything goes. If thats the dress you want then go for it. While ettiquette may not agree, it doesnt seem to me that these rules apply as they used to. Just my opinion. Good Luck!!

The bridal salon will let you know when to come in for your first fitting. I was told by my salon that I should expect to hear from them at the beginning of April (my wedding is 1st weekend in June). But, I got a card last week telling me to come in this Saturday. I called to confirm the appointment & they said that because they have so many June brides, they're starting early. My advice is call your bridal salon & ask.

Don't worry about losing extra weight, you usually go for at least 3 fittings. They can always take the dress in a little more.

Hi Rachel. My bridesmaids are also wearing black. Black is a very elegant color. Call me non traditional but I dont see why you have to match your colors to time of day or year. Black is a basic, elegant anytime color. Go for it. To put everyone at ease maybe brighten the black up with some boldly colored flowers. That is what I am doing. Good Luck!!!

Ok here we go! My parents decided that since they paid for my reception they would contribute(greatly) to my brothers. Well my FSIL came over yesterday with invitation wording of how her mom wants it worded. It would state Mrs. Smith invites you to the wedding of her daughter to Joe Jones son of Mr and Mrs Jones. Now my mom is upset to say the least and I can see where she is coming from. To me if the brides family and grooms family contribute the same $$ shouldn't it be Mrs Smith and Mr & Mrs Jones invite you to their childrens........Am I wrong?? Is my mom wrong?? I thought that was proper etiquette??

black Bm Dress

That is what my ladies are wearing to a 12noon outdoor ceremony. Blk is a color that looks good on everyone. I had them all pick dresses they liked & I know that they will get another wearing out of them. I am offsetting this with Cream and dusty rose colored flowers. Go for it!!

Nope she is well aware of the exact dollar amount which is equal to what her mom is giving her. Kudos to my parents for being very cool about contributing. I wish my MIL gave us some money!

Phyl, sounds very pretty : )

i also vote for black...it works on everyone, can be easily worn again (unlike seafoam green LOL) and is very elegant (ie - black tie affair).
