Candle Favors

I am going to incorporate candles into our favors. Does anyone know of a website or store that sells candles in bulk at reasonable prices. I am looking for square white plain candles approx 3" wide x 4" high, but do not want to pay $10 per candle! Any feedback would be great!

Beautiful personalized candles - I think one that size would be $7....but i'm not certain.

Good luck!

Candle Favors

I spent the last week in the Poconos (PA) for work. While I was there, I passed the American Candle Outlet (I think that's what it's called). They have really inexpensive candles. I'm going back this week and I'll take a look to see what kind of prices we are talking about. It may be worth the drive to save big $$$. The drive is about 2 hours.

They also have a Mikasa outlet near there where I found candle holder favors for about $5.

I found several candle websites in the back of Martha Stewart Weddings:

www.chandlerscandle.com www.mitchellscandles.com

and there's one for a candle shop in Sayville, but I can't remember the address...I'll look for it...

Teresa is right. American Candles in the Poconos has a HUGE selection and pretty low prices. I go or relatives go there just for a supply of votives. Dozens for only a few dollars

Consider buying a few rolls of film for your friends/family who are going to bring their cameras anyway......When you return from your honeymoon, take the film to those "free 2nd set of prints" places. That way you'll each have a full set.

And with today's new technology, a CD with your pix is only a few dollars more - and you can email your friends with the photos! : )

Valerie, There's a great candle company here on Long Island. I had them make a custom unity candle and my candle favors for my wedding last year. The favors were nicely wrapped in cellophane with curling ribbon that matched my wedding colors. Give them a call or visit their website at: http://everlastingcandle.com

Good Luck! Patty

I may say like the cheapo in all of these posts...but check out the dollar stores...or any discount stores. Some of them have candles like you described...and other disc stores have them on clearance. Duane Reade Drug stores has all holiday stuff 75% off right now...but there might not be much left. Or you can try American Liquidators...if you have them in your area.

I picked up wicker baskets to make a small welcome basket in each guests' room...were 99 cents each! They have glass votives, votive candles (23 cents each- and fragrant),etc.

Take a look in some inexpected places...not all bridal supplies have to be in a bridal store!

THAT'S the place in Sayville, I think! Thanks for reminding me!

Hey there. I went to Klinefelds in Brooklyn yesterday. I was very impressed with them in general. They have an awsome selection of gowns and the service is amazing. I just alled to ask if they carry plus sizes and they said they have some. It may be worth a try. Their # is 718-765-8500. They may have something you won't see at David's. Good luck.

Speaking of 99 cent stores, try Odd Job Lot or wholesale liquidators. They'll probably have better prices than most places.

Candle Favors

Hi! Patty is right, I'm using Everlasting Candle for my favors & unity candle. When I went to see their work I called them and they gave me directions to their house. Unfortunately, I don't have the address with me but all you have to do is call them up and set up an appointment. You won't be disappointed. They also let you put a personalized message with the favor, so does anyone have ideas for a saying to go with a candle. Any help will be great!

Thanks!! :-)

Monica

Candle Favors

I ordered candle favors from Guiniveres Candles in CA (flowercandles.com)-have not received them yet. They are gorgeous and reasonable at $4 each. They sent me samples free of charge. Lavander scented-larger than a votive with dried flower on it. You can even pick colors, flower typpes etc. They also have very nice unity candles....but I happened to order mine from heathercandles.com....same dried flower look

Thanks Jamelle, I just booked the Milleridge carriage house. I only have 9 months to plan, I'm glad to know it can be done.

There is a chain of stores in Conn and Mass called "Christmas Tree Shops". The have great deals on stuff like that. The name is deceiving. They don't just sell Christmas stuff. I bought my friend's bridal shower favors there for $1.50 a piece (a beautiful daisy glass candle holder with a candle inside.)

I sent it yesterday. I linked to your address above. Is there a different email address for you?

Does anyone know where I can order a specific style CACHET (brand) dresses from?

Do you know if they have a website or a catalog?

I have a few minor details about the processional that I am trying to work out, and I am just curious what everyone else is doing. Are you guys having the bridesmaids walk in with the groomsmen or are all of the groomsmen going to be at the alter and the bridesmaids walk down by themselves? I have even seen a wedding where the groomsmen meet the bridesmaids half way, does anyone have any other creative suggestions about this part of the ceremony? I would also like to know from a photographs point of view which is easier to photograph and what comes out better.

thanks in advance for your input

I'm not sure. But I would suspect that they don't. It's like one step up from one of our "Odd Job's".

Good luck, Stephanie
