Has anyone heard anything good or bad regarding Marina Del Rey? For an evening reception, you have a view of the NYC skyline as well as a view of 2 bridges. Looks beautiful. For what you pay per person, it looks like you get a lot. But as far as service and atmosphere I'm not sure.

Is that the place by LaGuardia Airport? If it is.....my dad went to a wedding there a few years ago and said it was nice....

One important note - WHEN THE TIDE IS OUT THAT WHOLE AREA SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS! : -(

VALERIE - I WENT TO AN ANNIVERSARY PARTY THEIR ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO AND THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING. I CANNOT IMAGINE THAT MUCH WOULD HAVE CHANGED IN 5 YEARS. ALSO, THE ATMOSPHERE WAS BEAUTIFUL.

I used them for my wedding and they weren't terrible nor was I embarassed of the job they did. I attended 4 weddings who used them and were all happy. I saved tons from not going through The Milleridge Florist and to me flowers are not that big of a deal. The majority of my money went to my hall and band-- 2 of the biggest elements. Hey, You can place a gorgeous flowerpiece in front of me but it doesn't make the food taste any better. I've heard tons of success stories with Burtons(they can be found at The Knot @ AOL messageboards),ok stories(like my own) and horror stories. One thing is for sure they are very nice to deal with....feel free to email me, I had 2 dozen red roses on brass candleabras with fillers--I will be more than happy to send anyone a pic who has a question on Burtons.............Gina

Could you imagine, having an outdoor cocktail hour and the air smells like rotten eggs!! I'd die. But, I believe Marina Del Rey is on the opposite side of Queens off the Throgs Neck Bridge, not on the side of LaGuardia. The view of the city is suppossed to be gorgeous and the prices and menus looks great, but I know sometimes prices are too good to be true. But thanks for the imput!

Oh, you know you're right! I think the place i"m thinking of is the Grand Bay Marina! Too many marinas.....
