We have to go through it too, but FH and I received our communions at the same church, I have to get my confiration certificate from another church & he has to get his baptismal cetrificate from the church where he was baptised.

I made communion and conformation in a different church, however the church I was baptized in had it all on record. The priest said they all report back to the parish you were baptized in.

That stinks. All I need is a baptism certificate. I dont even have to go to pre-cana. My church is laid back.

you dont have to go to pre-cana??? why is that?

As for the paper work, i am lucky to be getting married in the church i received all my sacraments in, but b/c i live far away, i did my pre nuptial interview here and they were asking about records of confirmation etc, but said since i am getting married in the same church they will have all the records. but yes it is normal that they want all the records.

You're not the ONLY one!
We're getting married at FH's church since my priest left and in ADDITION to all your paperwork, I require a letter from my church stating they give me 'permission' to marry outside my parish!!!

I was baptized in one church, and received my other sacraments at another - they should all be recorded on the back of your baptismal certificate...

This is true - the church where you were baptized should have all the information regardless of where you received the other sacraments.

When you call for a new Baptism certificate, ask them to notate it on the back with your communion and confirmation info. They should definitely have it.

I used to work in a Rectory and I remember well sending out all those confirmation/ communion notices to outside churches.
