Christie's in Bay Terrace?

Okay - I'm working out of my pickle. I've contacted Christie's in Bayside and have a trial set for this Friday night at 6PM for hair and makeup. Makeup with Liz and Hair w/Bella.

Does anyone have any info on this place? Janet Bari mentioned them to me at one point and the receptionist at my photography studio mentioned them to me as well. (personally, not professionally. Cassarino's does not recommend hair and make up people.)

Christie's - Costs

They told me the trial and the day of the wedding would cost the same - $45 for makeup, $50 for hair.

Is this standard???

I have also heard about them from a friend who gets her hair done there. That price actually seems very good. I think Janet Bari charges like 100 for the brides makeup.

Keep me updated about your experience with them, I was thinking of using them too.

I just spoke w/a friend of mine from H.S. - she lives in the area (has for decades) and raved about them. They did her hair for a wedding last year and did a great job!!!! She thinks the price is great and says its a great place.

I'll let you know how it goes on Friday!

Karen,

Thanks. You can email me at [email protected] if you want to let me know how it goes.

Re: sizes. Either and A line or a princess cut would work well - esp for the pregnant maid. You can take it to someone and have panels added.

Christie's in Bay Terrace?

I would only say don't get your hair highlighted there. I had probably the worst highlighting job ever done in my life there! I am sure for styling and make-up there are fine.

Def. hold off from bugging out until they actually find a place. You never know, they might fall in love with a hall and the day they want (one month before yours) may be booked. So you may luck out. Keep us posted with what happens.

Thanks for the follow up!

Christie's in Bay Terrace?

For highlighting and cuts I still go to my stylist in Stony Brook (since I work out here its not too bad).

But on the day of my wedding, I didn't want to commute 2 hours just to get my hair done!

Thanks for the feedback though! Much appreciated!

Karen- I'm not sure where you are getting married but I found a great place in Manhasset that I get my hair done now and I may use them for my wedding in Aug. Let me know if you want the name!

Good luck!
