cocktail hour and recieving lines

We plan on mingling during our cocktail hour...I agree with you, why not enjoy! Alot of times the bridal party is doing pictures during the cocktail hour and that is why they ar eout of sight. We are doing all (or as much as we can) before ceremony.

Usually the receiving line is at back of church, as guests leave. It depends how much time you have between ceremony and reception. Our ceremony is at our reception site, with cocktail hour immediatley after ceremony so we will not do a receiving line. Another reason I want to be able to mingle in and greet my guests at this time.

How's it going hun?? I know we are in the straight-away now :)

We are going to our cocktail hour, actaully my cocktail hour is in the garden at Eastwind and my pictures are in the garden as well. So we will automatically be with them. Now my dilema is getting the family to get in the pictures and stop talking with friends and family for about 45 minutes. HA HA HA - Good Luck to me

timing

well, the bridal party is usually taking pics at this time. If you have the day scheduled that you have 2 hours betw the ceremony and the reception, then you have all you pics done already. Lucky you! you can join the cocktail hour!

But, my wedding & reception is in the same place.Ceremony in the gardens. As the guests file out post cermony we will have a small receiving line...then start taking our pics as quickly as possible while the guests enjoy the cocktail hour. Maybe we can all our pics done in the hour, if we are lucky. Then, onto the reception. We dont have the luxery of paying to stay on a bit longer...we must be out by 6pm..another wedding to follow.

ARRGGH! but, what we did is hire 2 crews of photogs. I figured it was worth the little extra $$ if it saves us time & this way we are guarenteed to get pics of everyone! BTW, I will not see Rob until I walk down the aisle...so no pre ceremony pics together.
