This is our second year without a holiday party. They laid off 15% of our staff-couldn't afford it. It wasn't anything big. They rented out a local hall. So we're not missing much.

We go out for dinner and drinks in Babylon, with the lawyer we share office spance with, and her secretary, total there are 7 people.

Ours is on the 12/12 at the Hilton in NYC. DH is invited!

But I would take the bonus check instead of the party any day!

Taken for granted it's only for us.

His however includes me and it's more like a 'trip' than a party. Last year it was driving around bar hopping in a limo, taking pictures of the tree and walking around. (poor limo guy).

This year it's still open.. choices are Atlantic City, Mystery Dinner, Evening out.

Last year's evening out ended up with the boss losing his lunch with only me and two others sobber (unfortunately I was the only one in sight when it happend who was sober enough to notice it). I also had the GREAT pleasure of having the camcorder.. hehe (evil laugh) to this day people still talk. haha

So, this year there are two things.. 1) better attention paid to drinking and 2) Im not allowed to have the camera all to myself. Way to incrimidating.

.... I know Jim deserves a raise, right?


(needless to say I have more fun at his than mine,.. mine are stuffy and snobby over done regal affairs.. boring)

ETA: Just read our 'invitation' absolutely NO GUESTS allowed! And it's Rock Center Cafe, Sea Grill & Town Center.... whatever that means... I seriously need to learn more about the city. I work here and still don't 'get' it half the time.

i know ours is 12/17, but the trainees have yet to receive their invites, hmmm.... it's somewhere in midtown. i probably won't go anyway b/c i don't know anyone.

Ours is employee only and next Monday (yuck) at Laura Belle ( its in Times Square) We had it there last year.

We're having a 'luncheon' the week before shutdown...no significant others - but FH will be there since we work for the same company.

Last year half the company - I sh!t you not - got food poisening. When HR spoke to the company that supplied the food, the company tried to tell us that it was a virus, not food poisening. Yet no one's family members got sick....

Our's is Monday, 12/8 (next week) somewhere at South Street Seaport...no FH allowed. I'm not going either....I work in NJ and they provide buses for us to get there...but then I can't leave when I want. I don't drink anyway...so what's the point. I would definately rather have a BONUS.

both are on 12/12 and we can bring guests. we are going to mine first and then his. both are in the city, so we can do it.

My department is the 16th at the Toy Building....only employees. I also have another one on the 11th in our executive dining rooms....only employees.

DH's is at some country club on the north shore (I forgot which one) on the 13th and I am invited to that.

we dont' know what to do yet. we are thinking of doing a little thing at the office this year - instead of going to a restaurant. we invite significant others. we are thinking of maybe having a psychic this year...that would be fun wouldn't it?

That would be a blast jenny. Our company did that one year and we had a palm reader and a person doing caracitures (sp?). It was one of the most fun parties (well office party) that I went too.

Ours is 12/11 at the Atlantis Aquarium...and FH is invited, but can't go.

They're having it catered at my boss' apartment on Dec. 11. We have a small office and my boss' apartment is HUGE and in the city. FH is invited and is coming. Don't know what FH's company is doing yet.

It is in the middle of the month in the city and no Dh is not invited.

Ours was on 12/13 (a sat) and then moved to a Wed (12/10) at Danford's in Port Jefferson....us and significant others are welcome...

OUrs is at The Palace in NYC - been there before, it's georgeous.

Just the employees. Which is fine by me.

I also get invitatations to parties the vendors have for us. They're nicer, I think but they are only cocktail food not dancing (which is what is at my job's party).

We're having one just for our office on 12/16 in our conference room, from 12-3, catered by the employees (we wanted a pot luck type of thing) and the bi-office party is 12/19 at Piccolo (I think) in Huntington (at 12:30, so more of a lunch than dinner). Guests are invited to the one on 12/19 but they have to pay $25 (we're a non-profit, so money is tight). FH will not be going to either. He has 3 parties to go to, all during the day, during the week, at the offices, and I'm not invited.

my company is based out of Minn, so no party from them.
The center's site I work at did not invite us, since we are not their employees.

No parties, no bonuses I need a job with better benefits

Mine is 12/18 at the El Caribe in Brooklyn, and then I hear everyone goes out afterwards in the city and gets toasted! I work with a fun group of people, so we should have a great time!
