Re: Crazy Band Prices
I don't think that was a vendor pretending to be a bride...bc I met with them....they really do have a good way of making sure that you know what you are getting for your money....I think that the bride that wrote it was just expecting to get a cheaper band....What's strange, is, if she is in the music business, I am surprised that she didn't have connections for another band that WOULD be cheaper for her....that's what seems weird...

Ahh... oops. Hope we didn't scare her away. It was definitely the most confusing post I'd ever seen.

No, it was a very weird post...just sounded like she wasn't getting what she wanted...(which we all know when planning a wedding happens)...so she just felt the need to write to all the bands....like for some reason, they are going to change their prices...lol...I am sure a lot of brides feel like it is too much $$...oh well!

Re: Crazy Band Prices
I'm so new at this and have no idea what's going on but if anyone has any suggestions on bands I would really appreciate some help. I'm looking for a Italina/American Band. If anyone knows of any they could recommend and price range, please let me know. Thanks. . .

Re: Crazy Band Prices
I want to thank the few of you that responded kindly. Some of the 'ladies' that replied just made me feel terrible. So stupid... It reminded me of High School.I am not a vendor. I don't live on Long Island anymore (I did live there for 25 years) so I don't know any local bands personally. I also know that I am picky about the sound I get from a group and even though you might not hear some of the mistakes and poor singing I do. What might sound fantastic to you might not sound that way for me. I was very dissapointed in what I heard and just felt that as a consumer I had the right to voice my concerns. I strongly feel that if more of us stood up and spoke out about the outrageous prices that we get charged here in the tri-state area things would change. No where else in the country are wedding expenses as high as they are here. And just because you pay thousands of dollars for something don't be so quick to think that you got the best.

dear Shana
I dont think the girls meant to upset you in any way...they probably just didnt understand your post and also since it was edited....it means you took something out or added stuff to the post....There have been cases here where a vendor tries to bad mouth a certain company and so alot of the girls look out for that stuff....Not to mention there was only 1 post from you....we become a little fishy about certain things....pls dont let this bother you....
just know that this is a great place for advice and info about your wedding planning..I hope you continue to chat with us

I hear ya. The bridal industry needs some MAJOR reforms. I was shocked when I joined here and girls werent willing to divulge prices and stuff for vendors in fear that their special day would be ruined. I thought for sure we could lower prices in the long-term if everyone swapped deals.
But unfortunately this is why the bridal industry is able to overcharge us... they play on the fear that we have about this day being ruined.
Sorry if I thought your post was a fake, I was confused, and like you said and I said, vendors in this industry are strange and resort to strange measures to get a sale.
