Today we saw crest hollow cc. It was really nice and offered us an amazing deal for sept 2016. Its the lowest quote I received so far out of 5 places - I have one more tonight. I was going to cancel my appointment with them due to the thought there was more than 1 event at a time. What are the pros and cons any one here has found?

I went to Crest Hollow today too.I don't think I will choose them for me personally cause i heard they do 2 cocktail hours outside on seperate sides of the pool. The place is nice .I do love how the pool looks it does give them a destination wedding feel. They told me that no parties will see each other entering the place cause of the timing of the events and I clearly saw 2 parties enter the same time. Thats not really a huge deal for me some people it a big deal. I don't think I will be picking that place cause the rooms are a little outdated for me. I dislike the mirrors on the wall, the chairs were ugly. I also so woodbury country club, chatieu briand, westbury manor today if you want those quotes i was checking oct -nov 2016

We were deciding between crest hollow and chateau briand. We didn't like how there could be more than 1 cocktail hr outside at crest hollow. The outside at chateau briand is beautiful, you feel like you are on vacation and it is more private since you are the only party out there. We chose chateau and I would def recommend checking them out.

The high school I work for has its prom in April - I don't think I'd mind another wedding party being there but during prom season you may have some high schoolers! I was there last year in the room on the 1st floor on the far right - food was good, everything was enjoyable.Edit: I was looking at the date on your profile not for Sept - in that case, there is definitely alot going on there on any given night but we didn't notice (nor did we have any part of the event outside). I haven't been to Chateau Briand in years but I remember enjoying it as well

yes can you send me those quotes your received today. we also just did chateau la mer and it was very beautiful. it is a little pricer during the nice months in march its a steal and a half! but do I want march? I don't get the yacht or the outdoor area for cocktail hour. But the price was unbeatable! mostly redone the chairs were beautiful the view is breathtaking - they still had their Christmas tree up though lol.

One of the reasons we didn't look at Crest Hollow was because of the high volume of sweet 16's, proms, bar/bat mitzvahs they have there... it's a very high change of pre-teens or drunk teenagers running around your venue, trying to get into your wedding.

I went to a wedding there about 4 years ago and it was nice but a little outdated. I think they've gotten renovations since then. It does have a high amount of Sweet 16s and Proms. I remember during the ceremony we can hear and feel the vibrations of the party going on in the other room it was a little awkward but the food is good. I looked at Chateau Briand and it was gorgeous but I've heard mixed reviews on the food. But my future sister in law who booked there for her wedding for May 2016 said everything was delicious when she went for a tasting. Goodluck!

FH and I went to a wedding there A few years ago. We did notice any teens running around or anything like that. The cocktail area outside is very pretty and the room was nice.

Quick 2 sense when you go to Crest HollowWhen in the room with your banquet manager you are being recorded. There are signs very sneakily posted off to the side so you almost cant see them to allow them to do it because in NYS you cannot record someone without their knowing. We didn't realize it until we sat down and the woman said, gimme a few moments to go get our brochures and refreshments;
My fiancee and I were talking bout how it looked like they didn't offer as much as other places, how we would absolutely NOT book for more than $85 a person, and how much we liked a few places more.
When the woman came back in she started comparing the place to others we had just mentioned, said how many extra things that she would throw in, AND then magically gave us the exact price we said we wouldn't go over. Thats when I noticed the sign to her right almost hidden behind the plasma screen behind her
This woman wasn't clairvoyant she was listening to us the entire time. My parents got married here around 35 years ago, so I was really excited to check this out. Its a catering factory now though. Each room smells of different foods too, even while there was no events going on. The bridal suite she showed us would barely fit 5 people, lastly the fact that they were listening in on us just made the experience that much worse
I'm sure this is a wonderful place for some people but the recording thing just turns me off entirely

THAT HAPPENED TO US!!!! when i went on Sunday!!!!! I saw the sign too and i was like hmmm thats strange. I didnt like the prices were higher for ceremony space outside- depending on where you picked it was crazy to me.

Hey JacquiG, who was the banquet manager you met with at CHCC?I didn't notice the signs and will look for it the next time I'm there. The post above scared me a little hahah.
My first choice was Fox Hollow's winter garden. I fell in love with the venue however the price per plate was higher and it would have required more money for up-lighting. The right amount of light is important for my FH and I as it will affect our pictures (photographers will know it is important and the FH is very specific with that :)). Also, the number of people I could have invited would have been far less. Crest Hollow has the up-lighting already installed (saves me more $$).

My brother got married at Crest Hollow CC back in 2007. It was a FANTASTIC wedding but I think that was in part to the guests invited. They had an outdoor ceremony and an outdoor cocktail hour (there was never another party across the pool from us) the reception inside was great but that was when I noticed another wedding going on down the hall because we bumped into guests when we left the reception room for the bathroom. Another problem was they had a couple wedding crashers. One set of like 3 boys were around my age at the time (18/19) and came up to me and started talking about how they were related to the groom - (dumb move when im in a bridesmaids dress and the grooms sister) so we had a little issue with them and then they left... the next group was older and obviously just looking for some fun - just a shame nobody was really around to help get them out and we had to go hunt someone down. It was a fantastic wedding even with the wedding crashers but I know it was a little annoying having them there drinking and eating food that they didn't pay nor were invited to join for.

Hey Elizabeth;I don't remember but she was a young blonde woman with long hair and a foreign accent of some sort. It was just a really terrible experience for us.
Im sure they give a nice affair, it just wasn't the right fit for us

I see. I met with Laura-Beth back in November I believe. She was on maternity leave last time I checked. I thought perhaps she was back in the office, she's a great banquet manager.I wonder, what is the purpose of having a camera in the room? I guess it doesn't matter for me anyway :) Still good to know.

wooooow.. I can't believe what I'm reading! they're totally invading your privacy while they're supposedly 'stepping out for refreshments'. 2 of my coworkers booked with them & rave about them but that would really bother me.

STFU. That is INSANE. FH and I knew as soon as we saw the rooms it was a 'HELL NO' for us. I can imagine what was said. Laura-Beth was 8mo. preggo at the time, and had a broken toe, I'm sure we said something about that. Oh my God. That is INSANE.Welcome New Vendors
