We just signed the contract last night and are getting married next June. It will be hard but it can be done. We are closing in September and in September we have to put 50% down at the Carltun where we are getting married. That's scary. Downpayment, closing fees and the wedding money!!

We bought our place in August of '03 and were married in May '04.

Same here A little stressful but sooo worth it! It was great having out own house to come back to after the wedding was over. We closed 2 weeks after coming back from the honeymoon.

Close on our house Dec 9th got married Jan 8th, took at 10grand a year pay cut by changing positions first week in feb and car died 5 days later. It was a very stressful 6mth period of time but it all works out in the end.

What we actually did was more or less cleaned out 98% of our live savings for the house and wedding and whatever $ we got as wedding gifts is now our new savings and that is now sitting in a higher interest account and is our emergency $$. Yes it is very very stressful especially since I did most B/S for the house (like 50 phone calls a day) and pulled our wedding together (I am still amazed it worked out as well and smoothe as it did)

Like I said it is stressful but totally do-able

If all goes well, we're closing this June. I get nervous when I think about how much debt we'll be in after the wedding and the place... but hopefully it'll be worth it.

yes and i also changed jobs during that too. it was so stressful, i am so glad its over

Yup,
We got engaged in 03. Planned/planning the wedding for 05 and bought the house in 04.

However we haven't moved in yet. We should be moving into it next month and with the wedding 4 months away it's been a bit stressful to say the least!

Well, i guess we are definitely not the only crazy couple out there just pileing on the stress! I'm glad we are going to have a house & it's so exciting but i'm so depressed to realize that all of my savings is GONE!

This year - started a new job, planning a wedding, buying a new house - three of the most stressful events one will experience in their life!

I'm surprised they aren't medicating me yet

Did anyone have to borrow 'a couple' to get through the wedding after buying a houes w/ closing costs etc....

I think we might have to ! So scary - what's scary is that we are estimating everything.

We got engaged in March 2003, started looking for a house in April 2003, went to contract in June 2003, closed in August 2003, moved in September 2003 and then finally got married in November 2004.

Yes, it is A LOT!
