Or am I just a moron?!
I want to 'pre-look' at gowns in a bridal shop ALONE.
I have a very opinionated family, and I know that if I'm with them the first time I look at gowns, they'll be TELLING me what I like, not asking.
Does this make sense? Did anyone else do this?
I'm not one to flip through magazines looking at dresses...I think I'll get a lot more out of it if I see them in person.
I hit 2 places alone because I live so far from everyone & they are all married w/ kids so scheduling is a hassle... I figured if i found something i'd take them with me again...the one place the sales lady was a HUGE help & looked for styles I told her I liked...there was another bride there w/ BM's and they would give me opinions when i came out in the dresses...and like you said....you get to decide what YOU like...when I take people with me they usually like the dress that's not my favorite, then it can influence you...i say go for it!

nicole- go and enjoy yourself and pick and choose whatever styles work best for you- nothing wrong with a little previewing! I did- only with two of my friends before I brought my mom and MIL

you're not a nut! i never did because I didnt want to face dress shopping without my mom.. i definitely would have though.. my fam is the same way! my sister basically told me what did or did not look right.. hey, she even told me the dress i bought made my butt look tremendous.. loving sister right??
you're normal.. and even if you weren't, we'd still love you!![]()
I'm laughing b/c my loving sister told me that I had an ugly back while I was standing in my dress at the salon. I didn't even know anyone could have an ugly back?!

I did on-line, so I know what you mean and NO u are not a moron for doing so.
I don't think your moron at all. I also looked online. I think you should get some sort of idea of what you like, before you have others giving you their opinion.

I've been looking alot online and in magazines. I have thought about it a few times though - going to just take a 'peek' though. I've been good though!

Re: Did you 'pre-look' at gowns?
I am kind of going 'pre-looking' this Thursday. I dont' want to order the gown yet, I just want to look and get myself familiar with everything and the way it works before I actually start shopping.Welcome New Vendors
