I'm on a pretty tight budget- can anyone refer a DJ? I don't really know what DJ's go for- so any $$ info would be helpful.

As for you being selfish- NO WAY!!! I'd be peeved if my sister planned her wedding so close to mine. Especially when you've been enganged and have had the date set for a while. Have you tried talking to your brother? What does your family think?

Invitation to dance for their basic package wanted about 1200. They were very good and worth the price. Also, you can work out deals and payment plans with them. They are sponsored by the Great Bridal Expo.

Karen: I just hired High Energy Entertainment. They did my sisters wedding 5 years ago. Same owner - Ralph - you really want him. He is $775.00 with everything and give-a-ways. He is in Ronkonkoma.

Wow..Kate That's a great deal. I have just hired my DJ. (Get in Tune) in Holbrook. We found him to be great with reasonable prices in comparison to the others we saw. He was the only one under $1000 and included the give aways as well. We are having our DJ for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception for $995 with giveaways. $925 without. I saw Get in Tune at a Bridal Show a few months ago and i thought they were great.

I don't think you should put your parents in the middle, but their advise is usually helpful- especially since they know both of you better than just about anyone... One month doesn't seem like enough time for the reasons that have already been mentioned (ie, financial burden on relatives who will have to attend two weddings, etc). You and your brother are obviously old enough to have an adult conversation. So give it a try. If you talk with your brother I'm sure things can get worked out. (:-]

Hi Karen. We just booked Spin Around Sound. Tom White is the owner. His # is212-352-0007 or his cell # is 917-449-7746. Tell him that Concetta referred you. He is awesome. Really nice guy, extremely knowledgeable about music. His video was awesome and he offers several different packages ranging in price. It was a tough decision because my fiance is a musician and my degree is in music and Tom and Spin Around sound was the only think we like out of other DJ's and bands. Give him a buzz. He is defintely worth it.

I agree with Karen, just don't do it. I personally don't think you should HAVE to do anything you don't want to at your wedding, just because it's tradition. ;-)

Hi! I was just wondering how you were able to get Ralph from High Energy for $775. I just got a quote from him of $900 for the cocktail hour and reception. What does your package include? When is your wedding? He seems like a really nice guy and was just wondering what the difference in packages was. I told him that my fiance and I wanted only a basic package. Also I was wondering if there were any other DJ's anyone can recommend around the same price range. Thanks!!

I've never heard of her but if you liked her work, why not ask for some references. That way you could check up on her with a few halls or brides.

Try Get in Tune in Centereach. They are doing my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception with the giveaways for $995. In comparison to all the DJ's I saw, that was the best deal I found. I saw them at a Bridal Show at the Huntington Hilton and seemed to me they do a great job. After speaking to him in person I aslo felt that we will have a great time at our wedding

Concetta, I looked into Fine Art and I love their work too, but their basic package starts at $3000 and that's just for photos, no video.. Since we are paying for our own weding, we are tight, but photos is definetly not an area I want to compromise. Any suggestions? Can you tell me what package you got and what kind of extras they threw in?? Thanks :)
