I've never been 2 a shower where the bride didn't open the gifts. I think people expect it...especially all of the older people...
While I understand your concern, I agree with the poster above. Most older people want you to open them there.

Re: DO YOU HAVE TO OPEN ALL GIFTS AT BRIDAL SHOWER?
my mom and bridal party had everyone wrap their gifts in clear plastic wrap and instead of unwrapping all of the gifts (there were a LOT of people there!), we partied and bonded...so much fun!!!!!!!!!

i kinda feel like it is expected that you open your gifts at your shower...it is def time consuming, etc, but i feel like it is just what you do...

Re: DO YOU HAVE TO OPEN ALL GIFTS AT BRIDAL SHOWER?
I WILL NOT be opening ,my gifts because I think it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo boring--I hate showers because of it! I am having a cocktail party shower and it will be co-ed. so it will actually be a big party. It will be held at my home which is great for entertaining so everyone can mingle by the fire place. a bartender is coming in and it will be a martini party. if anyone wants her info fm me. she is reasonable for 3 hrs and supplies all the glasses and sugar for the rims and whatnot. food will be catered-we will have a blast -sing, dance, eat and be merry. i cant wait!

most girls do open, but it's your party, you could do what you want.

I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding last year and it took her 2 hrs to open all her gifts....not sooo fun for the party, but people did expect her to do it, especially her mother's friends.

A lot of folks will expect you will, but if it's going to take a very long time (like the 2 hours mentioned above), perhaps consider doing it later.Welcome New Vendors
