Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

It is funny...ladies..because when I first saw my ring it did not have the stone in it. I had to pick a stone. To put in it. When, they set the stone in, he wanted to put it a little higher..I told him..no-- push the stone as far down as it can go. I do understand about the raised channel set ...I just got my band, and it could not be flat..it had to be risen up!. To line up with the base top part.

When, I first got my ring ...all the men loved it they called it the bling ....bling ring..they said that it was blinding to there eyes. The glear that came from the stone. But, it is only 1.01 carat center stone. ---- . 35 on the sides. But my band is a . 65. I did not want anything bigger with diamonds. Since I think the rings sticks out like a sore thumb.

Personally i wish mine was higher. Mine is the tiffany lucida and it is low,
making the diamond look smaller than it is.

I hear ya.

Im getting a small band with diamond set in the band and spread out so they aren't lined up or channel set.

But I have scratched myself with my ring and scratched Jim too!!! I've ripped a set of slacks cause I have a habit of sitting on my hands or putting them between my knees when their cold.

I measured it.. from skin to the top of my ring is 1/4 an inch. Being Marquise cut.. it's SHARP

here's Mine from an angle and looking straight at it. the ring itself is raised!
hehe
Oh and I had nothing to do with my ring choice. Jim picked it out for me. All I wanted was Marquise.

Your ring does look sharp! It is very unique looking!! I like it!!!

I have the same ring as you...but in white gold!!!
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my ring!!!!
The only thing that bummed me out about it was when I went to get my wedding ring.
I wanted a flat channel ring that had the diamonds set within the band to match the band of the e-ring.
When I tried on the flat regular ring with my e-ring it looked HORRIBLE. I had to get the channel ring with a raised center or as my jeweler call it, a domed top, to match the height of the ring.
So basically, my wedding ring has a slight raise to it to match the height of the e-ring.

Hopefull someone understands what i'm saying!

ETA- here is my ring- but only mine has 6 prongs.

I know what you mean about the raised band. I had to get the same stlye. It does look nice together.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

Well right now

....I am typing with the e-ring on and the wedding band, I can't take it off my fingers...

It really does not look all that bad anymore. The .65 carats on the band makes it look like a really nice style complimenting the solitare look. Thank God I am not a lefty, is all I have to say. I don't want to take the band off!!!

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

After reading Xelindra's post, I measured my ring. It's just about half and inch high. When I first got it, I had a little difficulty bumping it on things because I wasn't used to wearing it. Now, no problem at all. And the wedding band I'm getting looks great with it - no problem because of height.

Spitzergirl... I know I will be doing the same thing as soon as my ring comes in. I didn't want to take off the sample at the jewelers!

Mine's half inch if it's on my finger and one inch if I measure the whole thing. I think I'll deal with it the way it is - I love it!

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

All day since I posted this question..I have been looking at other girlz rings..whether married or single and 8 out of 10 have a very high setting. I guess that is the most popular. I am just so scared to wear my ring to the gym. I am afraid..I will knock the diamond right off the top if I hit it hard against the machines. I always take it off anyway.

I love the way it looks when the band is next to it.
