Dying aisle runner
I am thinking of dying my aisle runner purple. I saw a pic of one once and it was magnificent! What a contrast, it was beautiful! So my GF and I were thinking of dying a white one and then personalizing it! Wanted to know if anyone else had ever done it or thought about it. TIA ladies

That sounds like a great idea!I have done lots of fabric dying - it's lots of fun! If your runner is cotton I would recommend procion dyes, you can order them from Dharma Trading Company.

Thanks so much, I am thinking about getting a satin one. I just assumed I would use the RIT dye you see in stores, but I'm gonna check out the Trading Co right now, Thanks!

Re: Dying aisle runner
Rit dyes also work, but be aware that you have to boil the water first, then let it cool down. Make sure you follow the directions on the back precisely.

Re: Dying aisle runner
OK I ordered my aisle runner and found out DD will be OOT next week, so it's def gonna get done! I am so scared and excited. I purchased a 100' ivory, just in case it doesn't work for whatever reason, I can just use the other half!!! And I have 16' to play around with colors and drying. Sometimes I worry the paint will dry wrinkly, or make the runner pucker. I guess I will find out soon!!! Any tips you ladies have before I start would be great!!!

Re: Dying aisle runner
the one thing i know about dyeing stuff, is after it dries, it usually dries wrinkly, but soak in in cold (after its dry)water and then hang it up to dry, then you will be able to iron it(if the material allows) the cold water gets all the excess color off, that would be left on the fibers and get stuck to the iron.. dont put in the washing machine ever, it doesnt work and will stain the washer, i found out the hard way.Welcome New Vendors
