Father/Daughter Dance
So initially, I had planned on using the song 'Michelle' by The Beatles for my father/daughter dance. I'm named after the song, and my dad and I are huge Beatles fans. However, we danced to this song at my Sweet 16. It could be a sweet gesture to use it again. I'm now considering using 'My Hero' by Foo Fighters. My dad and I are also huge Foo Fighters fans. Some of the lyrics are a bit off, but the chorus is the most meaningful ('there goes my hero, watch him as he goes'). Just a thought I'm tossing around. Any opinions?Link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWRaAF6_WY

Re: Father/Daughter Dance
I like either song! I think the foo fighter song is awesome...its not a traditional f/d dance song but it means alot to you both so it could be cool...I think im going the same route with my dad....we have some nontraditional songs that work alot better...

Re: Father/Daughter Dance
I love Michelle but I am not doing a father/daughter dance because I do not have anyone to dance with.

I think either would work and I love that you are using a unique song!!I am actually using a Beatles song for my father/daugher dance! 'All my Lovin'
He used to sing it to us in the bathtub when he was pouring water over our head...'Close your eyes and I'll kiss you...' Get it? hehe

WishingWell, that is the CUTEST thing I've ever heard!! There won't be any shortage of Beatles/Beatles member solo songs at our wedding. We have a two part first dance, and the first part is 'Oh, Yoko!' by John Lennon. I think I'm going to go with 'My Hero'. My mom loved the idea, and people have already cried watching us dance to 'Michelle'.

Re: Father/Daughter Dance
thank you. :)And that sounds fantastic! You can still play 'Michelle' at another point during the wedding, this will create a new memory for you and your dad!

Re: Father/Daughter Dance
I love both songs and the reasons you picked them too. I can see why you are having a hard time deciding. I think I would dance with the one from your sweet 16 as the official song and still play the other song and dance with your dad to that also. (or visa versa) either way I would still dance with him to both

Re: Father/Daughter Dance
Being my name is Michelle too LOL... I always hated when people would say my name and then start singing, Michelle my Bell (just last week my co-worker did this to me LOL )With that being said, FOOO all the way LOL
But you have great reason for both.
My dad pick his song for me, Daddy Little girl by Tim McGraw - He such a country freak LOL
