Flower girl alterations price. opinions needed!!

Okay I bought my flower girl dress from david's bridal. I spent 84.15 for the dress. My flower girl is super tall and super skinny so I knew that the dress would have to be altered. I went in to alter my dress and DB told me that it should be approximately $50 to alter the flower girl dress when I showed it to them. So I tell the mother to take her in and that the price will be $50. I get a call from her that they charged her $80.00 to take in the dress!!! $80.00.

Is it just me or is that ridiculous. It is a little girls dress what the the heck could they be doing that cost 80.00?

Here is the dress. Please ladies tell me what you think because I am about to roll up in DB and get real ignorant!!

I think that is insane!!! They do tend to over charge for alterations but that is crazy! I would complain.

can you take the dress to your cleaners and see how much they charge. thats prob your best bet. try a few places

this is what we are doing because I can't see paying that much for alterations for a young girls dress

ITA my SIL brought my nieces dress to jim dandy in huntington and they did a great job

Hey ladies just wanted to update you. I went to DB and they threw a fit about me complaining about the price and said price was justified because of the amount of work that was needed. I still complained and told them I rather pay 80.00 dollars to some else because it is high way robbery. Then all of a sudden they were willing to do it for the 50.00 originally quoted. Personally I think that is pricey but at least I was expecting that. smh... I cant wait for the wedding to get here.
