flowers - how much?

Has anyone done their flowers yet? Can you give a ball-park figure of how much you paid for a total floral package. I need to get an idea of how much to budget for! Thanks gals!

flowers - how much?

I am payting about $1800 for flowers. Not sure if that is average cost (to me it seems high) because didnt do much research. We are paying for the wedding, but my parents are doing the flowers. They wanted to use James Cress (Smithtown) and thats what their price was. They do gorgeous work. It boils down to about $125 for my bouquet, $100 MOH, $75 2 BM's. Corsages were $20 or $15 each. Centerpieces were $75 per. There are other 'little' things that add up....decorations for the ceremony etc. Just a note, I had went into Wedding World Wedding Center & the prices they quoted were MUCH cheaper, I think centerpieces were like $30 each, but I have no idea about there work, reliablilty. Just interested to see differences.

I did use the guy who did Sinatra( we were married on 12/12 Sinatra Bday) he was great, it was a nice touch for dinner music. I used a pianist(part of the band) for my cocktail hour--he was great also and played on the baby grand that The Milleridge provides. Ric was very energetic and was good with audience participation-not that annoying kind of MC. I can honestly say that out of 20 bands I saw he was the best and most classy. Most bands have talent but if they don't have class, it can ruin an affair. You can email me privately with anymore questions......Gina :)

We chose a package of all roses for $375. It includes my bouquet, 3 BM, 6 boutineers, 2 mothers' coursages, and a vase of roses for pictures at the house.

glory- who r u using?

sounds pretty reasonable to me. For centerpieces, I picked up hurricane lamps w/ a white taper candle at conways- $6. then I picked up silk flower rings at liquidators another $4 each. So, my centp will cost roughly $12(w/tax) and I picked up enuf for 16 tables.

For my personal flowers, my aunt's frined has a business at home- silk and dried flowers. She is doing my flowers- silk and dried, all other silk only:1 MOH, 2 bm's. one pompadour for the jr BM, 1 mom corsage, and I guess about 10 bouts. I am trying to find pics of bouqts everywhere- through my old bridal mags on online- so I can show her what I like. $$ was not been discussed, but she wants to see what others are quoting and she will undercut. She does beautiful work, so I am very excited!

$1800 sound like a LOT to spend on something that lasts for one day...but that is just my 2 cents! Hope this helps!

flowers - how much?

Hi Debbie: I am having blue hydrangea nose gay boquets made. For my bridal, 3 bridesmaids, 12 boutineers, 2 large floor arrangements for altar and 3 smaller for top of altar, plus 4 wrist flower arrangements for moms and readers, I am paying $660.00 total and my flower is being shipped in because it is not in season in May. I thought that was a great price. I didn't order centerpieces though. I'm using 2 12" procelain angels holding boquets that light up on my tables with Ivy around their feet, so my package of flowers is everything minus centerpieces. I think 1,800.00 is a bit much. Good Luck. Why don't you shop around a little. What kind of flowers are you getting. Sometimes the growers/people who make them from their homes can cut the price in 1/2.

thanks!

flowers - how much?

Hi!

I'm actually paying around $1900 for my flowers but that included my bouquet, MOH & MatronOH & 8 bridesmaids bouquets, 10 bouteneires (sp?) (I have a pretty big bridal party), 2 flowergirls bouquets & 1 basket, corsages for the moms & grandmoms & the bouteneires for the dads & grandpa. I also am getting flowers for the Church & pew bows & the centerpieces for the reception (for 20 tables). I don't remember the breakout per item but overall I think I got a lot for my price and the best thing about my florist is that she works out of her home (no tax!) & she only does one wedding a day. So you don't have to worry about your florist rushing off to another wedding and she is very easy to work with.

Michele Flower Florist

Phyl, we're using Michele Flower Florist in Huntington (516) 549-8680. They are a house vendor for our reception hall, JOHN ANTHONY'S ON THE WATER. Bob, the owner, was extremely open with working with us. He's great!

Monica, could you give me the name of the florist that you are using!!! Thanks

Also, try to see pics that were shot indoors and outdoors.

If you are interested in candids, after viewing the whole portfolio, if you don't see any there ASK ABOUT IT. If it is important to you, you need to see it- and a few diff versions.
