That is true. If I had the room in the room ... I would probably invite them and just pay for the ones that go over my mom's budgeted amount. But, since the room holds 156 MAX .... I am very worried about inviting more than like 160. As it stands now .. I am at 148 on my list. That is without adding the one friend (and guest) I mentioned above that I am considering (he lives in CA and may not come, but I would like to invite him because I'd love to have him there) and without the 13 couples FMIL wants to invite. That means she can invite 12 more people before we reach 160 - which would cut the list she just gave me in half. Or, she can remove some of the work friends she gave me a while ago... there's 4 couples. Almost everyone else on the list is a close, CLOSE friend of the family or of mine and FH's, or is FAMILY.
UGHHHHHHH. I have a pit in my stomach, you have no idea.

ugh, Jenn I'm sorry
Def have FH talk to FMIL - that should be his territory!I'd be frustrated too. . .does she realize that you are going over your max number and that her numbers are so much higher than your parents'?
If it comes down to it, you should have the people there that mean the most to you and Matt, not those that mean the most to FMIL. JMO.

She doesn't know her list is bigger than my mom's. That's my issue, really. If I tell her (or if FH does), she may feel terrible. Or, she may say, what's that got to do with anything? We have more family! And I feel that way sometimes too, that the fact that her family is bigger is just the way it is. FFIL has 5 brothers and sisters, all of which have kids who are FH's first cousins and invited ... and FMIL's dad has at least 3-4 brothers and sisters who she wants to invite, even though FH hasn't seen them in YEARS and I have not met one of them. And the grandfather's cousins??? Hell no.
SO, FH will deal with it, he told me so. But I just don't know when. He is working a side job allll week. And the more this goes unaddressed, the more stressed I will get and want to email her about it ... but I feel realllllly weird about that and I feel bad telling her NO. Is that normal?????

I know how you feel. The guestlist issue right now makes me feel ill and is seriously giving me ulcers! Its crazy how all of a sudden family members will pop up out of no where after a finalized list has been made.Welcome New Vendors
