Couldn't read the whole thing. Our family dog passed away several months ago because he was old. My mom was on the phone with me when she said the dog is really bad and hung up quickly. I raced over there and he died in front of all of us. It hurts like it was yesterday!

Thats ok.I guess I was a feeling too emotional. Maybe its PMS. (a good excuse to eat some chocalate later)
I am just such an animal lover.I love dogs.We have 2 cats. (Will try and convince my husband to get a dog several years down the road.)

Now that I have one, I don't think I could ever live without one. They are so loyal... ok, I am all sad again. I am debating if I should drive up and see him at the hospital. It would probably upset him, righht???

OMG, when Onyx had to have an operation, he had to wear that cone. When I went to pick him up, the vet told me that sometimes dogs get depressed when they have to wear it. I thought that was ridiculous, until we got home. He looked so miserable, wouldnt snuggle, just laid there staring at me like he was horrified by the injustice of having to wear it

It took him almost a week to get used to it- and to learn how to get through the door without smacking the cone on it.

This thread made me feel guilty for not paying enough attention to my dog so I bought her a new toy, she was so happy and has been playing with it nonstop.
