Fox Hollow

My brother and SIL just booked The Fox Hollow for Oct 2001, they plan to do an outdoor cocktail hour if weather permits. I would appreciate all feedback on The Fox Hollow. :) Thanks Gina

Good Luck!

Fox Hollow

Gina, I just booked Fox Hollow for my wedding and I have heard nothing but wonderful things from everybody I talk to. My wedding is in November 2001. They also told us about an outside cocktail hour - depending on weather. I really love the atmoshere there. I am not into the marble/chandelier look. Their atmosphere is very cozy - that's what sold us on them.

Let me know how your brother makes out.

If the decor is your style, then I think it might be a worthwhile choice.

Fox Hollow

IF YOU READ WHAT I LEFT BEHIND UNGER WOODBURY CC (I MESSED UP) I GIVE MY OPINIONS BETWEEN FOX HOLLOW AND CREST HOLLOW. THE THING THAT I WAS NOT FOND OF ABOUT FOX HOLLOW WAS THE LONG OVAL TABLES. TRY TO PUT LESS PEOPLE AT THE TABLES, IT IS HARD TO TALK TO PEOPLE TWO OR THREE DOWN FROM YOU.

If the decor is your style, then I think it might be a worthwhile choice.

if I remember correctly my reception at the milleridge cottage had oval tables and they weren't a problem. don't most places have round or oval tables?

Fox Hollow the best!!!

for us, at least. We are getting married there on 7/2/00. Booked it back in 1/99. Very accmodating- but will not haggle on price. We did our research before checking out places. Spoke to everyone I knew- including biz associates about weddings they have gone to- recommendations, and more importantly, things they did not like. Struck gold w/ an associate who used to work in the catering halls!! (Leonards is npot all it is crakced up to be) Not only wasn't there one bad thing said about the place, WE heard RAVES!! Getting married in the gardens, cocktail hour inside in the Garden Pavillion & reception in the Briar Fox.

Marble, chandeliers and glitz are not our style- this is more of a chalet setting w/ excellant food and service. One waiter per table...during the reception is a nice touch for our guests.

Bring your appetite! The cocktail hour is very lavish and during the reception, you have a choice of entrees, or you can sample all of them! Never heard of a place that will offer guests seconds of their entree! Just expect to pay for this. I negoitated a better rate by having a daytime wedding and he knocked off an additional $3/person...which with 185 guests is a savings of $555!

Fox Hollow the best!!!

They got a great price of $109pp on a Sat night in Oct. The cocktail hour if not outside will be in the Briar Fox and the reception in the main ballroom(tiffany glass dome ontop). My FSIL cried when she walked into the place knowing that it was perfect(not gaudy, simply elegant). So far we've heard great things about The FH!

gina!

That is wonderful!! She must have a larger guest list than my 185. They will take care of everything including the cake. They do NOT do a tasting, though I heard only good things about them. I worked w/ someone who got married there about 6 months ago and she said they were wonderful and the food superb...even the cake.

Great! I checked out their vendors...but found them lacking...esp the photog. We are going on our own for everything..but may check out their recommendations for hair & makeup.

Yes they have to guarantee 225. It was the first place they checked out and they fell inlove. The same happened to my husband and I with The Milleridge--my mouth dropped open and I cried. I guess you just know. As far as the vendors--they have awhile for them but they probably will wind up going out on their own too. She knows already Cassarino is not for her.....Thanks for the info I really appreciate it. Gina :)

Gina, Do you mind sharing why your FSIL doesn't think Cassarino is for her? Reason I'm asking is because they are one of the house photographers for our catering hall. I have heard mixed reviews. Please share, thanks!

My FSIL was maid-of-honor at my SIL's wedding. We keep our families tight LOL That particular photographer on for her wedding was sloppy and loud. The pictures did come out nice but my FSIL likes more of a candid feel. She is into photography and feels Cassarino cannot capture what she wants and I think she is right in her particular case. I was also a bridesmaid at my SIL's wedding and to be honest once you experience a company(badly) firsthand you are instantly turned-off. I think that's pretty understandable. It's not to say though that they are bad--her pics were nice. They just weren't for us.

We went to the Band store to see what they offered. Two weeks later, the guy called us and was EXTREMELY RUDE because we did not commit to his band! He made personal digs, and seemed very unprofessional. He acted like we were obligated to use him, although we never made any commitment. We question his validity as a supplier of bands, and are happy we chose not not to use him.

I am getting married at the Fox Hollow on 9/10/00 and we thought the place was perfect. Our ceremony is going to be outside and the reception inside in the winter garden room. The cocktail our is in the restaurant. The photographer we picked was Sherwood they are wonderful and the pictures really look beautiful. I hope that it will all work out.

Just a thought but could one of you look on www.dessy.com go to fall collection and style #1837 and tell me if you like the color palomino (just a thought).

Thanks

i agree with you cassarino was not for me either....found them indifferent, but capable. i personally feel a photographer has to convey a sense of care for ones wedding and all i got was a price ...call us if your ready...but book us soon cause we're # 1....well i don't need that kind of conceat over my wedding choices....also found out unfortunately "house vendors" are not all they're cut out to be.....for money it seems anyone and everyone can be recommended...check out at least 3-4 "outside vendors"...before signing your wedding away......

What is everyone's opinion about sending out "save the date" cards? Has anyone done this; when is an appropriate time to do so? Any info would be helpful. Thank you and good luck to everyone!

Today we pause to reflect upon those who have shaped our character, molded our spirits and touched our hearts. May the lighting of this candle be a reminder of the memories we have shared, a representation of the everlasting impact you have made upon our lives.

Just for the record.....while their style may not be for everyone, I found Dominic @ Cassarino to be VERY concerned w/the details of my wedding. More so than the other 3 shops I interviewed.

I loved that they had photos of an assortment of reception locals for me to look at....special ideas for the photographs....highlights for the videos....lighting issues....locals for the photo shoot (not just the standard studio stuff)...inexpensive but attractive ways to display the final product....

He spent over 2.5 hours talking to me just about the details of my wedding!
