Fox hollow or Watermill
Hi everyone, new here!We are planning our wedding for June of 2017. I think we have narrowed it down to either Fox Hollow or Watermill. Does anyone have any insight they would like to share?
We like that fox hollow has the hotel because we will have a lot of out of town guests. We like the actual room better and that it's only a 125 minimum. The food doesn't look as great as watermill options
Watermill will be getting renovated early 2016 so it will be new and beautiful. They don't have a nice selection of hotels nearby. They want a minimum of 150. The food selection looks AMAZING.
They both quoted us for pretty much the same price.
Thanks!!

Fox hollow or Watermill
They are such amazing venues - both gorgeous!went to a wedding at Fox Hollow on 10/31 and had my wedding at Watermill on 10/25. I thought the food at Fox Hollow was absolutely terrible, it is a beautiful place but options were limited. Watermill food was amazing and we had so much food. I personally don't like the updates they are doing at the Watermill.
I only had to guarantee 100 for my wedding so try to negotiate - don't give in because they will budge! We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Long Island, overlooking the golf course and it was beautiful!

Fox hollow or Watermill
I'm getting married at Fox Hollow in August and just went to another LIW bride's wedding there last weekend in the winter garden room (I assume this is the room you're looking at because if the low minimum). The room was gorgeous and the perfect size for a small wedding. The food was good. I have no complaints, but I eat very little and don't like a lot of things so I don't have a very sophisticated palate lol. But other people sitting with me really enjoyed their food and they all chose different options.I've been to events at the watermill before, pre-renovations. Never a wedding, just installation dinners. The food was always good and abundant.
I don't think you could go wrong with either option.

Just curious, when you stayed at the Hyatt, did they have suite options for bride and groom? I cant find any on their website.

We visited the hotel and they showed us the suite - they only have a handful of them. We had to book it over the phone!

Fox hollow or Watermill
I went to a wedding at the fox hollow May 2014 and it was beautiful! I thought the food was really good and we loved that the hotel was in walking distance from the venue. I also attended a wedding at the Watermill 5 years ago it was very nice the cocktail hour was outside and the reception was inside, it felt a little dark in the reception space. I went back to look at the Watermill to plan a formal for my graduate program and it felt like such a 'wedding factory' if you know what I mean. Although I never saw another wedding party while I was at my friends wedding a few years ago I would highly recommend the fox hollow over the watermill. Hope that was helpful ; )

Re: Fox hollow or Watermill
I just looked at the watermill today with my fiance and we were both very impressed with the food selection, I'm not too crazy about the chapel but it is a nice alternative if we can't do the outside ceremony...seriously though a bacon station!!!
