Considering she is coming from out of state I would let her bring her boyfriend. Not only for the sake of the wedding, but otherwise she will have to stay in a hotel room by herself.

Hi! Ok, I think if she is from NY then she comes alone, there is a reason why you invite someone with or without guest. But because she is already being nice enough to fly here and spend the extra expense to attend your wedding then I think that you have to say ok.

I would invite her with a guest only because she's coming out of state to go to your wedding. I think it's the right thing to do.

Re: Friend I barely speak to wants to bring a guest . . . HELP w POLL

This is a tough situation. Because you are not close now, I would be inclined not to make an exception for her. Because she is coming in from out of town, I would be inclined to make an exception for her.

Ask yourself if you really truly want her to come, and whether or not she will still fly to NY without a guest. Will telling her no, put the final nail in the coffin of your friendship? Do you care if it does?

Another consideration, you said she told you she is now living with her EX-boyfriend. I assume that is the guest in question. Do you know him? Do you like him? What do you know about their break-up and subsequent make-up? Is their relationship likely to become an issue with the people you would seat her with?

I did really like the idea someone else posted of telling her you need to wait for other RSVP's to keep within your budget before you can give her a definate answer.
