Re: Getting stiffed....

I would either give a card w/ no more than $50 in it or choose a gift off the registry for no more than $50.

Re: Getting stiffed....

So there are mixed reviews...my friends husband is set on giving them nothing. This is really a tough call for her. Oh and want to know the craziest thing - she asked my friend if she could borrow her veil for the wedding! (But it turns out it has pearls on it that dont go with her dress).

Re: Getting stiffed....

I would either not go at all or I'd go and suck it up, be the bigger the person and give a gift. (Although probably not an overly generous one.)

Re: Getting stiffed....

I would give them a gift either way. Killing them with kindness will make them realize their mistake. You absolutely cannot go to someone's wedding without bringing a gift, just out of spite. That will make you as bad, if not worse, as they are.

I would just send a card, and not go to the wedding.

Agree!

I couldn't attend a wedding without giving a gift even though they did the same thing.

Re: Getting stiffed....

Im not a fan of doing what someone did to you right back, because in my opinion in then makes you just as bad as that person and you can no longer say your not at fault , no matter what the reason.

I have also said at times...Oh I owe you a gift...as a polite way of saying Im BROKE...and its been said to me..Unless they HAVE money I would let it slide and as always do what I can afford.

Too many people these days complain about what they should do 'BACK' to a person...cant expect people to change if your willing to do the same thing.

I would give a very small gift (an egg slicer? One pillowcase?) from the registry with a nice card.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

DITTO- small gift

or just a card.... but I think the small gift off the registry would make the better point, and still be a 'gift' so they're not empty-handed.

Re: Getting stiffed....

Act the better person and give them at least a card - nothing else.

I would not give a gift!
Go to the wedding, have a great time, and just bring a card! Nothing else!
