Re: GIRLS I NEED MORAL SUPPORT
I am so sorry
You and your family are in my prayers! I know it doesn't seem like it now but it does get easier. I am not going to lie to you it will take awhile and at all the important moments in your life you will feel an emptiness. My grandmother passed away 8 years ago and it is very hard for me to think that she won't be there at my wedding but I know she is spiritually.

Re: GIRLS I NEED MORAL SUPPORT
I know how you feel. Althought its been 10years that my grandmother passed away, I was extremely close to her and I miss her and think of her every day. We grew up around her, and she was a huge part of our lives.Make something special to commemorate her on your wedding day. Get your favorite photo of her, and make a special collage/frame for your placecard table. I think it will even make you feel good to make this. It will keep the special memories alive, and it will make you feel that strong connection.
You will grieve and hurt over losing her, since its so recent, thats ok. Let yourself cry as much as you need to. Maybe you can write her a letter and put that and a photo of you and your fiance near her when she is buried.
She will always be with you.
Lots of hugs to you and your family.

Re: GIRLS I NEED MORAL SUPPORT
I am truely sorry you are going though this. I can relate all too well to your situation.I've been engaged since Sept. 2001. I really wanted my Grandmother to walk me down the Isle, as she was my other parent my entire life. It was my Mother, me and my Grandmother against the world. She even moved down from Maine to live with us when we needed her when I started school. My Nana was diagnosed w/ lung Cancer last Oct. and passed a week after my birthday in Dec. I went up to Maine on my birthday, to say my final good-byes. I'm tearing as I write this, that was by far the hardest thing I had ever had to do in my life. I was trying so hard to give her hope and spoke of the wedding. I told her how much fun we would have.... and she looked at me with her big blue eyes and said, 'Michelle, I am not going to make it to your wedding, but I will be there'. Well, my heart fell to the floor like never before.
I still feel empty inside, and will miss her terribly on my day. I know in my heart though, she will be there, and so will your Grandmother be there on your wedding day. Hold on to the good memories and find something special that you can hold on to for that day. My prayers are with you and your family.

Re: GIRLS I NEED MORAL SUPPORT
For my bridal shower my matrons of honor put a picture of me and my grandmother in a picture frame and put it next to me on my table. In their speech they said that she was with me on that day and that's when they handed me the picture frame. I was very touched by what they did. Maybe you can do something like that for your wedding put a picture of you and her in a frame and put in on your table.

Re: GIRLS I NEED MORAL SUPPORT
i'm so sorry. my FI lost his grandfather in jan. and i lost my grandmother in feb. just a month before we got engaged. on the day of the engagement, there were two small rainbows in the sky over our restaurant. i believe that was my grandmother and my FI grandfather letting us know they were looking down over us and sharing their love. it makes me believe that we never really lose those we love, they're always a part of our lives. i just know your grandmother will be sharing your day with you!

Re: GIRLS I NEED MORAL SUPPORT
I am terribly sorry to hear that. I lost my grandmother earlier this year. She was the last of both of our grandparents. In her last couple days all she would talk about was dancing with my FI at our wedding. She loved him. We were in the process of arranging a civil ceremony with her in the hospital so that she could be there for our weddings. We new she would not make it another year. Unfortunately she passed away before we could do that. A big regret for me, but I plan on aying tribute to her and our other grandparents at the wedding.
